Bring Solsthiem to Skyrim

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:46 am

Hey I'm sure at least some of you who played the bloodmoon expansion wanna see werewolves, beserkers and some of the other enemies brought to skyrim. Even Stalhrim ,the Skaal ,wearing bear and wolfskin armor Viking style.

The Skaal were native to Solstheim. I bet bethesda can change that though. But werewolves/beserkers/solstheim's mobs in skyrim altogether would be neat, because they match the northen geographical qualities of Skyrim.

I'd rather not go back. Stahlrim should be around. Nords who join Shor in the afterlife leave their bodies frozen in it. The Skaal wouldn't leave Solstheim for Skyrim, for any reason I can think of.

If their are no goblins the riekling raiders would make a decent substitute.

Though apparently BGS won't be doing an Expansion pack the same size of Shivering Isles ever again, I would have liked to see Solsthiem revisted. That's what I loved about, particularly the Bloodmoon Xpac, even though Tribunal was better, Solsthiems addition in Morrowind felt a lot more organic, not out of place like virtually all DLC.

That's just what I've been hearing, I hope it's utter BS, I've never seen an official source claiming either-Or.

I just hope they take the Point Lookout approach and make new, pretty good sized, landmasses. I want to explore new areas, rather than tread old ground.

Hmmm, I hope that's just in regards to Fallout 3. In my opinion, especially considering Skyrim uses all new Tech and whatnot, the game's overall feel is very complimentary to large Expansion Packs. I mean, did Shivering Isles really take that long? I was really shocked at it's announcement, and it gave me more gameplay than all the Fallout3 DLC combined threefold.

That's not to say there's no place for DLC, Knights of the Nine was pretty darn good, Mehrune's Razor was a pretty big letdown though. (The dagger itself looked really awesome though), but why is the "DLC" being "Released faster" such a good thing, I don't think Bethesda released a DLC for Fallout 3, except maybe Point Lookout, that wasn't mired in bugs.

Bloodmoon was probably my favorite expansion ever. Second is probably Point Lookout.

So if they decide on smaller DLC's they should keep the Point Lookout idea of adding a new landmass.

Supposedly Solstheim became a refugee camp for the Dunmer when Vvardenfell got rocked (according to those books of questionable canon), that would be a good reason to leave.

Anyway, I would love to see the weapons and armor make a return. I have spent much time and effort bringing them to Oblivion for myself, so for me it goes without saying I would love their return. :)

Well, I was just playing Oblivion and heard people talking about how the Nords were trying to take over Solsthiem. So it may happen, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Stahlrim armor was easily my favorite out of all the different types, in both Oblivion and Morrowind. I'd love to see it, and Solstheim, return for Skyrim. Perhaps an expansion where you have to ease tensions between the Dunmer and Skaal as another Hunt approaches?

Well i'd like to see what happened to Solstheim, considering that during this age, the Empire is crumbling, and probably losing its grip on Soltheim and Vvardenfell enough for them to strike back and rebel.

Perhaps the Nordic tribes of that Island are trying to take back their land, as the Imperial Soldiers do their best to maintain their foothold.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I pretty much agree. SI was decent, but only two different dungeon types (combined into a single one in some places) gets annoying as hell only at half of the MQ. I'd prefer single DLC's that add REAL new content rather than that again.

SI was awesome, it was better than all the dlc for FO3 and it had about as much new content as about 3 of the FO3 dlc :P
And it worked fine; with minimal bugs and technical issues :P

I would like to see Soltheim again as an expansion pack. It coud add werewolves* and a Dunmer Colony**.

*(they arent in at this point, whatever they add in the next half year will likely feel rushed. I'd rather have them make something fantastic out of werewolves so that an argonian werewolves still has Argonian features.)

**(Many Dunmer who escaped Vvardenfell started a new life on Soltheim, it would be great to see a colony that mixes the different cultures of Redoran, hlaalu and Telvanni.)

EDIT: Another thing that I like about Soltheim is that it acrtually adds to the map. Not some different zone like SI or Tribunal but more land, weapons, guild, etc to the default game. It just made you're game bigger without feeling like some seperate DLC pack.
