YOU CAN BREATHE FIRE!

I'm fine with Dragons breathing fire...but I'm also sure that it would be too tempting if I could, too.

Well he also said he was tryin to avoid dragon shouts that were redundant. im pretty sure theres a trailer where you shout n it pushes a dragon, it looked a lot like breathing fire at first when i saw it (of course its not). i wouldnt doubt theres a breathe fire dragon shout considering... i mean im pretty sure everyone knows theres goin to be one without asking. ice is a lot less obvious, but im too lazy to look it up. in hindsight if you can breathe ice thats means there ice dragons. fyi for those who didnt know you can breathe fire (noobs be everywhere willis!)

i just want a shout that saves me when i fall 100 feet by loookin at the ground and screamin like a lil girl ( cus we know theres lil girl dragons) :D

Not a fan of breathing fire. So I guess I just won't pursue this shout. Doesn't really fit 'realism' here. From the few shouts that were confirmed, I thought shouts would only affect the envirionment. (slow time, stop time, force push, teleport etc...) not manifest matter.
A little wierd IMO.

First off....What? Realism? I'm not even going to touch that one.....

Secondly, fire is not matter, fire is the use of energy consuming matter. However, in the TES universe, fire can exist through magic, without consumption of any "matter" aside from the ethereal form of matter that is Magicka/mana. Therefore any production of a so-called "physical" reaction in TES through the use of magic is perfectly normal based on the laws of magick use. Also, consider the factor that dragons, and subsequently Dragonborn people, have special abilities above and beyond "mundane" magick use. i.e. Flight is only possible for dragons through use of magick(arguably, based on lore)

This was already confirmed (only you don't actually breathe the fire) as it is shown in the trailer at 1:36.

No. The shout in the trailer is Unrelenting Force. That was confirmed, yes. Breathing fire is new info and is what this topic is referring to.

developer said no redundant dragon shouts.. i did say that right. also your not as big as a dragon. im pretty sure the shouts will save your ass, but arent gonna let you decimitate the dragons in the game, or the environment...

I don't want to go around being a pariah because I shout fire from the mouth and ice from my a##. So for my immersion objective, I will avoid these types of shouts as much as possible. This is of course if the game gives me the freedom not to have to use these.

I would like to keep the RPG experience a little more realistic fantasy and not the far - eastern type kabuki theater RPG as seen elsewhere. The initial over-the-top abilities of these eastern type RPGs are initially 'wicked' but the effects are not sustainable usually because the lack of connection between realism and fantasy. They seem as gimmicks that remove the susceptible from tactical cause and effects. Trix are for kids.

I understand you have the dragon voice and can learn their words. Since Bethesda's view of dragon powers come from their shout/speech, then this fits their model. However the playthrough I will pursue will have my character having a higher mental capacity than a dragon and as such will focus on more refined shouts.

Just a preference.

1. We didnt know breathing fire was a dragon shout until a couple of days ago.

2. Just because dragons use it, would not necessarily mean we can use it, or vice versa. I HIGHLY doubt dragons will use sneak shouts, or teleport shouts.

3. The whole "you can do all they can do" is a marketing gimmick, kids. Its not reliable.

Yea, man. For those reasons I didn't put two and two together. :P
btw where can I find the latest news? Sometimes I check the forums a few weeks or months at a time.

Actually Todd has stated a long time ago that Dragons don't breath fire in a traditional sense and that they use shouts to create the fire. This was all in the game informer podcast I believe.

I have never heard that confirmed until this interview, all I seen was people speculating about it, and I check the forums everyday.

Wow, I check the forums every so often and I caught it. Look for topics titled, New interview or something like that with major gaming name like IGN or Gamespot on it.

This has been known for some time. That being said, I'm just as excited :D In my playthrough of Oblivion I'm using the Dragonfire spell or whatever it is (That comes with the Dragon Sword thing from battlehorn castle) whenever I can and pretending it's the fire shout :DD Only problem is it's like 50 something magika to use and I've only got 134.

I can't wait to see all the youtube videos of people shouting fire in NPC's faces in shops and taverns. Also setting NPC's up at the edge of a mountain and using the force push shout! Possibilities are endless!

Fine with me, man. But my explanation still holds true. The way the magick works is normal in the TES universe, for certain beings. You get to be one of those beings as the Dovahkiin. So you get the option of embracing that power and uniqueness, or not. Keep in mind as well that you don't have to find all the dragonshouts, and you certainly don't have to use them all.

Then you missed something because it was.

NO, it wasn't. It was not revealed until this past interview.

What is the deal with nearly everybody saying "This was confirmed months ago" when what they mean is "We talked about this and speculated about it months ago."

Nobody confirmed the fire breathing until these past few weeks. Please provide a link if I'm wrong. I know you wont though.

Lizard people fighting dragons and cat people doesn't really fit 'realism' either. Complain about that too please.
