I think it's a good idea, just not very plausible. The main reasons being the UI a, size, and battery life. If they can find a way to make a UI (that includes controls) that is usable for the iPad, that would be sweet. It would probably end up being really awkward to walk around (in game) with the touch screen. Then interactions in game would probably be awkward, as well.
I don't know how big the game will be, but the size of it will probably take up a lot of space on an iPad. Downloading it from the iTunes store would take a long time.
I don't know how long an iPad's battery life is, but for my iPod Touch, games tend to drain the battery. I don't know if a larger game will us up battery faster, or how any of that stuff works, but I always imagined that larger apps would use up more batteries.
Another concern is importing the content to an iPad-usable thing. Once they make the game, I don't know how much work it would take to make it iPad-compatable.
If they can overcome those problems, it would be sweet. I think it is extremely unlikely, but it would be pretty sweet to play it.
