Another Esbern

Did you guys know there is a Nord priest named Esbern in the KoTN plug-in? You can find him in the Cheydinhal Chapel of Arkay. I thought this was pretty interesting so I'm just throwin' it out there.

Good catch. Probably a coincidence, but maybe there's a connection and you'll be able to treat yourself to a cookie

Obviously. "Another" Esbern

There are lots of people in real life who share the same name, there's no reason why there can't be in the Elder Scrolls as well, in fact, I'm pretty sure there are a number of names that have been used in the series multiple times for different characters, Cyrus, for example, I seem to recall a Blade named Cyrus in Oblivion, and Cyrus is also the protagonist of Redguard.

I think we can assume the Esbern in Skyrim is not the same Esbern as in Knights of the Nine, as I'm pretty sure Nords don't normally live for over 200 years, but it could still be that there's an intentional reference here, not that they're the same person, but just that Bethesda thought it would be a clever refence to a previous game to have a character in it share a name with another character.

Like I said...obviously "ANOTHER" Esbern...meaning another person named Esbern.

Uriel Septim.

It's worth noting the relationship between those Uriels though...

But despite I do find it an interesting info  - especially, since he was a Nord. You never, know for sure ... and it's nice to let your imagination get into play. ;)

@ OP: Do you also know, what this "priest" did / what he was for in the game ? Could you talk with him ? Was he involved in a quest or was he even a quest-giver ? - Really would like to know.

To be completely honest, BGS probably just thought it was a cool name and reused it. Considering this is the first time I have heard this Esbern brought up, most people probably didn't even know he existed.

Maybe, maybe not ... Doesn't sound like you know more than others, huh ?

That's what I wanted to know. So, if you haven't heard of him, maybe someone else ?
