And I tried to install it with OBMM. Still too confusing with that optional files.

Yes you can try it. It is even better if you know just how to create an omod (you know click the button create and just say yes to everything, click ok and then just activate the omod). You don't need to know anymore than that.

Advanced User:
You know your way around OBMM (scripts make the installation so easy!!), you swear only by Wrye Bash which is the ultimate tool for a mod user!
You can definitely use Better Cities.

Expert User:
You use BAIN for every mod or you omod and script everything!
Yeah, you can even see and appreciate all the efforts we put in the organization of packages to make BAIN installation easy for you. For an omod user you can see how easily and painlessly the script does all the work for you.


Not to sound condescending, but have you even read the readme? If you do not know the basics of mod installation, brush up before you attempt this, or you'll botch your install and then be frustrated...

I encountered 2 issues inside Auriel's bookshop in the IC Market district.
1) On the bookshelf opposite the entrance is a book call Mist and Mysticism book 2. When I click it to read it Oblivion consistently crashes. This happens even if I purchase the book, go out the shop, and read the book from my inventory. Other books in the store can be read without any crash
2) On the same bookshelf, I can't read the books on the lowest shelf. They look normally placed, but I can't read them by hovering my mouse over them. It's as if these books, and the tan pitcher on the same shelf, are displaced from their image.
Anyone else encountered these problems?



Same here for issue 1, CTD when trying to read Mist and Mysticism, Book 2. Faulting module is apparently OBSE_Kyoma_MenuQue.dll, removing it stops the CTD. No clue why. Issue 2, that whole bunch of books is just a static mesh, not individual, readable books.



Books are part of the menus in the game, and that specific book is 84 pages long in-game. It looks like omeletted may have found the problem, that DLL's name includes the word "Menu" so presumably does something related to menus. My guess is that the book is so large, whatever that DLL does gets overloaded, causing the game to crash. It's also possible that the DLL is totally unrelated, merely a coincidence (it does things with Menus, so it was running when the book was opened and the game crashed - the DLL wasn't necessarily the cause, merely happened to be there at the time). Please read the final note on the "Book" page of the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Book. Perhaps the Mist and Mysticism books need splitting into shorter books.


I think the DLL was indeed just a coincidence, it happened to be running at the time of the crash, it did not cause it.
I am splitting the three Mist & Mysticism books into six, which should prevent crashes.

A patch that adds BC buildings into OCR towns?

What? How did I miss that?

The readme states it is untested with OCR patches. Has anyone found issue with them? Has anyone used this and has info to share?

It adds some extra buildings in a few areas where OCR might seem a bit empty, so long as those spaces are not already claimed for the purposes of mod compatibility.

Are the buildings occupied or used? Or just decorations?

Still curious if anyone has plugged this into a full OCR load order with lots of patches to see if there are any issues.

It adds buildings which connect to new interiors supplied by BC into spaces where there's room for them in OCR. It should be fine with the patches as Vorians and I coordinated a bit to minimize any clashes that might come up. As far as I can tell there should be no disruption to any patches for OCR and the ULs either while using this.

As Arthmoor said :) It's still beta though, because I've only covered Anvil, Bruma, Cheydinhal and Chorrol so far, the other cities aren't done yet. I started on Skingrad, but put it on hold after Arthmoor mentioned that he was thinking of removing the inner city walls on each side of the road (which he has since done). I haven't had a chance yet to finish Skingrad off, nor to look at the other cities.

The ESP requires the BC ESM and both resource archives, but otherwise no other BC ESPs should be used with OCR (the BC TIE integration patch could still be used, along with the BC Cobl integration patch) - of course you can use the BC Imperial City ESPs, if you're not using the Open Cities Outer Districts.

It adds buildings from BC to the OCR cities, including the doors linking to the interiors, so that you can visit almost all the interiors which BC adds to the cities, and even play some of the BC quests (eventually). Thanks to some advise from Arthmoor, I don't believe the BC OCR buildings will conflict with any patches for OCR in the cities done so far.

I have a huge problem after installing. I did everything exactly per the omod installation instructions. I got the resource file from the nexus and the main file as well. I took both archives and made omods from them. I then activated both then switched over to Wrye. In Wrye I used BOSS which placed them at the end of the load order. I then rebuilt my bashed patch selecting merge all mergeable. Now when I start a new game the Imperial city walls are seethrough at parts and the market is a clustermess with random problems here and there. The mod looks cool besides that so I hope you can help me figure this out. I have no other mods installed which modify any cities. Here is my load order:

Only if you go through the FTP procedure, which can be a significant delay. Their normal file size threshold is 25MB before you have to do that.

Not likely happening. It takes time to upload large files (Ismelda does the uploading thankfully on a fast connection, mine by comparison is a slug), and in past experiences, Ismelda has found that Nexus tends to fail quite often during a large file transfer, but it doesn't tell you it has failed until the full time required to successfully upload has passed. Couple that with the people who complained every time the large BC resource archive was reuploaded because they didn't want to have to download a 250+ mb file all over again, and you see multiple reasons why we split the resource archive and tried not to need to reupload the main one again.

Not happening. PES is a very poor file-sharing site, with a primitive search engine which fails to find things it should have no trouble finding. If BC were ever mirrored onto another site, I think TES Alliance would be the most likely choice.
