Elves!

At least that's what a Nord would say.

Unbalance.
Crappy difficulty slider.
Topic dialogue.
Dumbed down mechanics.
Too much emphasis on "EPIC!!!!" And too little on writing and a coherent gameworld.
Psychic guards.
Forced map marker.
Level scaling.

Steam. I'll accept most of the things Bethesda do with Skyrim, but Steam... That would be unforgivable.

It's almost guaranteed to happen though, thankfully. I'd love it if the game featured steamworks. At the very least I pray that they don't use GFWL. (which I doubt they will)

I hope they don't gimp magic too much. While I understand todd's sentiment of "no spreadsheets" I also want a powerful and adaptive magic system where I am in control and I don't just have to use pre-built spells. That would be terrible.

You are entitled to your opinion of course.
I wouldn't mind Steam if it is optional. However in most games that feature it you are forced to use it.

As are you.

Not quite true really there are many games that do not have steamworks. It seems you are misunderstanding steamworks for steam. Steam just allows you to buy games on their platform while steamworks is a DRM version of the same idea but it also has some cool perks. But perhaps I am just arguing semantics and that's what you meant all along.

Skyrim might have steamworks (which, for me, would be great). And it will definitely be sold on steam.

I mean the same thing with Steamworks and Steam.

-Crashing almost every time I change hats.

-Enemy weapons disappearing into the grass/falling through the earth before I can loot them.

-Unexplained gaps in the landscape

-Cliffracers

Since I do play with mods these phenomena may or may not be Beth's fault, but are still things I don't want to see.

Psychic Guards. No need to extrapolate.

Who are you and how long have you been reading my mind?

Anyways I agree fully.

They really really really need to update the crime and calling for guards system.
Crimes being reported need to be coherent and understandable. If there are 2 guys in the woods and I murder one in front of the other it shouldn't be reported unless I let the other guy live or get away.

And when I start attacking someone in their house and kill them It should have a clear system for whether they can be heard calling for help.If I kill them and leave through the back door I should be able to dodge the blame some how.

-Boss fights need to be made difficult.Bethesda doesn't seem to have a very good track record with bosses.I think due to there being so many play styles they just make the bosses tank n' spank.

-cookie cutter cities/towns that have the basic lay outs.

It's really more of I don't want to see a lacking of things

-Oblivion enchanting system.I liked Morrowind's system more.I had a pair of pants for every job that needed doing.Need a door unlocked, let me put on my pants of unlocking.Need a soul stolen? Can do.
Being serious though I hated the lack of options in oblivion. Why couldn't I make a sword that increased my strength every time I hit something?Or make a ring or piece of armor that shot fire balls?
I don't see why they castrated the enchanting system like they did.And they sure as hell better not make me do another set of lame initiation quests so I can make spells and enchants,I can not stress in
any human language how tiresome that got.

- Romance (would fail without massive amounts of actually good dialogue)

- So-called 'realistic' gore (meaning goofy decapitations and extreme, persistant wounds)

- NV-style hardcoe mode (waste of resources better left to modders)

I agree. If they're not going to do it well, don't put it in the game.I remember reading something similar said about horses(honestly I won't miss them).

Bloody hell, from things that I haven't heard about? That's a toughy...makes me think....hard to kow whta you don't don't know, ya know?

- The drop/inventory transfer mechanism where you had to confirm quantity and if you wanted to drop/replace the item for every single thing. Made alchemy such a huge chore that I really dreaded doing it. How about just some sort of "highlight items" and drop them all at once?

- A dimple slider. I definitly don't want any effort put into making dimples.

Sigh...that's about it. There's much more that's in that I know about, which I don't want.

Curse your reverse thinking!

1: Oblivions style of Fast Traveling

2: Enemy levels always matching yours.(Makes it too easy.)

3: Adoring Fan's

4: Horrible voice acting

5: Civilized Orc's

6: STOP! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW!

7: Lack of Weapons and Armour variety

Agressive DRM. Internet conenction required to install, validate or decrypt is ok. Having to remain online in order to save the game etc. is just nuts. Oh and the creation of 'accounts' on publisher/developer sites in order to play.

Let's see.

* Steam (others can have their Steam in their Skyrim, I'd rather do without in mine)
* Achievements (I don't get the point of them, and they are getting on my nerves - when I play an RPG, I don't like to be reminded about the "G" part)
* Loading screens

1.) Blood/gore that you can't disable.
2.) One dimensional dragons (IE every dragon is a generic evil foe to be hunted)
3.) Every race being a walking caricature of stereotypes and world views. Contrary to the previous post, SOME civilized Orcs would make sense. I'd hate to see character individuality thrown out in favor of walking stereotypes.
4.) A lack of spell creation. If there's no spell creation the magic system is really awesome I hope.
5.) 200 years later, nothing has changed and it's the same never changing world. I want to hear about what's happened and how society has changed.

If they use Steam, I want the retail version to add it to my Steam account so I can download it in the future if I want. If Steam is only used for DRM and I still have to use the disc, I don't want it used for the retail version. Otherwise I don't mind.
