Can we have pets?

I really enjoyed having a pet Dog follow me around in Fallout 3. I think it would be awesome if Bethesda added this in.

Well there is that 1 dog following the guard in that 1 screenshot that I'm too lazy to link since I'm on my Ipod, but you should know about it already since it's considered common knowledge.

Anyways, that could mean we can get dogs as well.

I'd like a wolf :)

Well apparently they'll be lots of companions in the game so I'm sure a fair few of them will be animal/creature companions rather than all of them being one of the 10 playable races.

Good Point. There's not going to be useless pets like in MMOs, right?

We can't be too presumptuous, that could have just been a random dog walking and perfectly timed itself right next to the guard. I wouldn't be surprised if they were in the game though, the horses of Oblivion would somewhat follow you and fight with you. Can't seem it'd be too hard to include a few more animals.

No rats or mudcrabs, please. Unless they can summon hordes of their kind, then it'd be hilarious :D

Yes a pet Ohmes; with little white ears, a fluffy white tail, an up turned nose, and big eyes. Yes, yes this is to my liking.

hey look, another pet thread!

like it was said earlier, theres going to be a bunch of companions in Skyrim, so there is really no reason for this to be discussed; after all, both fallout games featured one of your companions to be a pet dog you could have (Dogmeat and Rex).

dogs will be likely in it and we got posible a kajiit companion so there you got your cat :)
wolf woul be cool or a sabertiger cub
but personaly i would like a dragon whelpling wich you find at hard to find place who will stay at you last bought house
as pritty much some compainion in the house who over the years devolves its inteligiance and soemtimes asking wene you return from long adventure how everyting went and or if you bought a present with you but besides that not anyting deep as fighting conpaion or that he will grow to be your mount that absolutly not but just someting extra in the house for people who like dragons

I dunno, was quite a while ago. Theres was plenty of forum pvssyr about it as Todd (I think?) mentioned how they're aiming for quantity over quality as far as companions go. Like with Radiant Story NPCs might actually go with you as a companion on some quests and stuff like that. I don't frequent the forum enough to remember details, sorry. :S

I always found that in Oblivion it was kind of unfair that the residents would have pet dogs and such and I wouldn't be able to have any. I think pets and companions would be different. Companions would go with you on quests and fight with you and pets would just follow you around town or hang out with you if you had a house.
