Animal Taming

1)Should there only be quest/purchased animal companions?
2)Should Animal Taming be a skill/perk set?
I say 1) no, 2) yes

do you not know how to set up a poll?

but I dont want to tame animals that came from the wild. what animals could you tame? I'm not going to take the time to go try to tame a hungry wolf that is trying to maul me. I don't see how you could do that. I can see if horses were tamable, but then that would be a RDR rip off.

I think maybe you could buy an animal companion and tame it then. Have different prices maybe? Tamed animals cost more, but if you want to tame it yourself, it would cost you less?

Assuming animal companions are in, it should be a Wood Elf racial ability to actually tame wild animals.
Other races must purchase pre-tamed animals.

No need to be hostile.
Wasn't posting this to be silly.
Obviously not going to attempt to tame highly hostile animals. Wolves aren't bloodthirsty man-eaters as is implied. Yes, in OB that's how they behaved. Just because everything in OB was either passive or aggressive with no degrees in between, doesn't mean it has to be that way in Skyrim. Domesticated animals all started out wild at the beginning, then someone took the first steps in taming them. Try to keep an open mind.

Hmmmmmmmm, this might be a touchy/complicated subject. I believe that it would be better if you would only be able to tame an animal if you were a certain class or maybe a skills that you earn through a quest or a race skill. Certain animals may be able to be tamed like a wolf or some sort of large cat or horse. On other threads Ive seen a saber being suggested though I highly doubt that it would pass. Something like that would never be able to be tamed.

Can't you buy tamed animals in vanilla Morrowind? I think they sell some in Tel Aruhn.

Edit: Oh dear, I somehow found myself in the Skyrim forums rather than the Morrowind mod forums. Bad joke wasted. Sad.

How about every race can tame animals. Wood Elves get big bonuses towards being successful, can communicate with & understand them better for additional dialogue options, & can train them to do more sophisticated things like fetching specific items without having to invest perks?

Wood elves could then get information from animals in the wild about what's passed through the area etc., helping with tracking down people/things
