Labyrinthian

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2009 6:46 pm

would it even exist it has been a long time since arena, that was the first era and right now we are in the 4th

Arena happened in third era as well.. only ~35 years prior to Oblivion actually. The Labyrinthian seems to have been built in First Era tough.

And why wouldn't it still exist?
Not to mention that almost every dungeon in MW and OB is from First Era anyway (some even older).

The Imperial City was built BEFORE the first era and is obviously still around. Many buildings are ancient.

I haven't played Arena since the 90's, so I can't really remember much of anything distinct from the provinces... except for Skyrim. The Labyrinthian is probably the thing that I remember the most from Arena, just because I spent a ton of time in there. I remember being on the phone with a friend, both of us playing our respective games, trying to talk each other through the place. Good times.

I guess it's on the map, so I guess it will be back. Very cool. They could port it over and I wouldn't know it, but I'm hoping for something bigger and more complex... perhaps a 3rd level that was discovered after the events of Arena.

The one thing I do miss are the riddles. Where you actually have to type in the answers, no lame multiple choice. And there actually wasn't much of an internet back then, so there was no Googling for answers :) Whenever I got stuck, I used to tell the riddles to anyone who would listen to get some ideas. Games were more fun back then.

I would be so awesome for it to be in, either as just a huge dungeon or maybe as a significant part of the main quest. Either way, include it!

Yes, it should be in. And it should be difficult.

It should not be 'leveled' either, as in the monsters simply populate based on your level when you arrive.

YES! it should be around level 50 or higher.

EDIT: unless it's part of the main quest. then maybe 30 or so

Didn't play Arena, but it sounds and looks interesting. I have always been a fan of mazes full of different enemies and traps.

$5 says they leave it out, and make it a DLC you have to pay for. If it's as big as it was in Arena, I'd almost guarantee it. They did it with the huge dungeon for Mehrunes Razor DLC.

I know. But... it's just this "eerie" feeling that I can't ignore. A lot of companies seem to be going this way.

Now that Todd have stated that they will have dungeons that take 1-2 hours it would make sense to have this.

That's what I'm hoping for. I still feel that we could be seeing this and dungeons like it as DLC.

You just gave the Beth guys an idea for a DLC material to be released by the Q2 2012.

Pre-morrowind dungeons were way too confusing. Getting stuck inside them made me cringe. But i'd like to see some ruins of Labyrinthian, to bring back some old memories.

I would love to see it in Skyrim. Such a massive and complex dungeon!

I'm replaying Arena now actually, and I'm currently heading to a dungeon that will lead to the Labyrynthian. But yeah, I want it.

Well, Todd Howard said in the interview to that German site that there will be some dungeons that will be epic 1-2 hour ones

So it would make sense in the lore for this to be one of those.....

"I never played arena, but the link you provided below made me want it."

Yes, I would like a large labyrinthian dungeon-maze in Skyrim. :)
Well, they did say they would make more traps and puzzles...

EDIT: I don't know if I want the exact same Labyrinthian to appear, but something similar to [those maps you linked to] would be nice.

It better have a minotaur lord in the center.

Or a daedric shrine, either Sheogorath or the Cthulhu knock off.
