If you had an Xbox360, you wouldn't need to wonder.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Minimum specifications haven't been released, and this thread is on a one-way trip to lock'dville.

The game will be able to run on an xbox 360 or ps3 so as long as your computer is better than either of those then yes. From what you say, yes. It should be fine dude. I have a 460 as well and I can play Fallout 3 on ultra settings with no problems in FPS.

edit: my processor is a corei7 quad core 920 though.. not dual core.

Bingo.

You're just going to have to wait for them to release the system specs, I'm saving up for a reel badass computer for gaming for the next 2 years or so. If I were you, I'd just save my money up and buy a really nice comp and not make Skyrim the benchmark for my graphics card, processor and RAM, I'd try and do that + 50% so it lasts quite a while.

As long as your not planning on playing in like 2560x1800 resolution or an eyefinity monitor setup, you'll be fine.

you will be able to play Skyrim fine with that card. As said previously the games being built on a 7300 equivalent machine.. 460 blows that out of the park and around the universe twice..

Let us hope that with the new compression methods they have learned that it won't svck on your ram as hard as previous games. But still, it can never hurt to have more ram :)

Yes, 1000x yes. You will be able to max out Skyrim as well as run it at a smooth framerate.

You are getting 4 more or up to 4 total? What is your Operating System? If you end up getting a lot of RAM you will need a 64 bit OS to utilize all the ram. I have 6 gigs ddr3 tripple channel ram and Vista 64 bit ultimate for example. My OS allows me to utilize the ram I have. Though I do want to buy more..

While your OS may let you utilize all the RAM you have, the programs you run may not. If something was written using 32 bit code, which currently means all games and most utility programs, the most they'll be able to use is still only 3 gb. And that's only if they are made Large Address Aware through some additional code. Currently only specialized software is written with 64 bits in mind. Skyrim won't be able to use those 6 gig, that's for sure. It will be a 32 bit game since it's being designed with consoles in mind.
