Just finished...

Some of my thoughts on the game....

I just finished the first time through. I enjoyed it. It's been too long since since I played Fallout 3 to know if I liked it better or not. I did get 100 hours of leisure entertainment from it (yes, I took my time) so in that regard I'd say money well spent. I can say though that i do not remember Fallout 3 being as easy as this was. I did not die nearly as often (hardcoe - Hard setting). Not sure that Very Hard would of made that much of a difference. Managed to get 34/50 of Steam achievements. I stayed foces on guns with almost no use of explosives or energy weapons. I'd blame that on the devs. Guns were just to much power, easy to repair, easy to find, ammo galore, etc. I think I missed a number of the achievements because I did a lot of quests out of order and stuff. I think i killed Caesar before it even came up that I could of met with him. The NCR President died before I even had a chance to get my hands in on that (if I remember correctly). I was down with the Yes Man and ended up kicking both the Legion and NCR out of my Vegas. House had to go too of course earlier. The end, fighting Legate was the only time that I repeatedly died and had to figure out how to keep myself and companion alive. That was fun. I look forward to seeing exactly what Yes Man is going to do, I sure hope he is still cool and works with me. Sounds like he might change his programming some and mess things up. LOL. Guess we'll find out when the DLC comes out? Sure hope they get it right this time and allow DLC via Steam from day one. They'll get more money out of me if they. Oh, and a shout out goes to my boy Boone. The other companions were OK, but Boone was my boy. I think I ended up giving my the 5mm Assault Carbine and over 5K worth of AP ammo for it. He was a hell of wingman. Hell, I even let him watch me when I slept with me Lucy. LOL. The random (regularly) game crashes aside, good job to the devs. I look forward to what you do next.

I thought FO: 3 was easier then NV...
The main quest took longer for me in FO: 3, but I never once had to look up anything.

It seemed like I got stuck (non combat) a lot more in NV... I had to look up what to do in the flower vault... I had to look up how to run to the boomers... I had to look up where to find Veronica... I had to look up how to get out of the Fiend Vault... I had to look up what to do in the radiated vault...

I never touched the wiki vault once till I was done with FO:3, but NV I was tabbing down a lot.

I also think the reason FO:3 took me so long was that I did everything on one run... I am on my third run this time, and still have intentionally left new things to do on my fourth...

I agree with you on the ease of repairing weapons/armor. I think this is the reason everyone has way to many caps left over at the end of the game.
