A Good First-Look, what would you want to see/play?

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2009 7:03 am

Now, I know it's super early to be asking this. When do you think a Demo may be coming out, or if there will be one?

And, before you start raging, for good discussion, what do you want to see in a gameplay demo?

- Small fighting up into a boss fight? Like Dragon Age: II.

- Different classes to just get a feel for the game, see what you might want to go into? Change those thoughts that you thought you were so locked into.

- What else? Throw it up there guys, I'm really interested to see what people could think of for a demo.

3 ... 2 .... 1.... LIGHT 'R UP!

I hate to burst your bubble, but Bethesda hasn't ever done demos (except for the press) yet. I wouldn't expect to see a downloadable demo this time either.

they did a fallout 3 demo, but I kinda doubt they would do one for skyrim, and when you play the game wouldnt you want to see the whole game not just tidbits?

Me myself would like to see
1.Combat system hopefully combat's more exciting and me personally would like some hack and slash in the mix of it.
2.Professions hopefully you actually interact with the profession your doing rather then just clicking "make 1 Steel Helmet" and that's it -_-
3.Maybe 1 boss battle.Which i would like there to be actual boss encounters and it actually take skill and strategy to defeat it rather then Hit,Defend with shield,Hit,Defend with Shield...etc
That's about all for me.

Gettin' Krunk. I want it to be like GTA and RDD where if you drink a lot you get the effects.

A demo isn't 'impossible'. It is, however, extremely unlikely.

Black Isle released a tech demo for Fallout 3 code named "Van Buren" before the studio collapsed. Bethesda never released a demo for Fallout 3. It has never released a demo for the ES series and I doubt they are going to start... but I wouldn't mind seeing one.

Screw a demo, it's just handpicked gameplay to cause hype. For a game this big a 24 hr free trial will really determine whether the game can sell on it's merits rather than marketing hype.

Well it's obvious a playable demo will not be given to the public but I don't quite mind that. It builds the urge to want to play even more. For E3 however I don't want any of the story driven main/side quests being spoiled. I WOULD however love to see one of the random side...side quests that Todd has been talking about. Supposedly the Radiant A.I. System builds small quests that are based off of your player skill level and class. A preview of that and a New Cinematic/GameplayTrailer would overall be an Amazing E3 showing! However I dont I repeat DON'T want to see any ignite main quest at ALL or any of the directed side quests! Please!

Pete confirmed there won't be a public demo. Hopefully we'll see a gameplay demonstration around E3 though.

There won`t be a demo but if there would be I would like to see/play...

The last part of the main quest to spoil how I beat Alduin.

The only thing I will settle for is the inventory/map/journal thing, the HUD, and the conversation stuff. All the stuff that makes the game work.

Dialogue.
Screw combat, screw dungeons, screw dragons, let me see an important aspect of the actual Role-Playing part, the dialogue.

The starter dungeon would suffice for a demo...It could've worked for Oblivion anyways.

I'll second this. I probably want too see the new dialogue system in action more than anything.

I want a character creation kit instead of a demo.

Every demoi hVe ever played has ruined the little 15 min -1hr segment of the real game that it encompases
