Dwermer technology

*yawn* as I said, it doesn't matter how "soft" lead is (it isn't soft).

Soft in general, no. Soft compared to other metals, yes- down among the softest.

A lead bullet has sufficient mass and energy to easily pierce any regular armour.

Key word: "regular." 'Course since there aren't any guns in Tamriel it doesn't really matter what they will or won't penetrate.

on Nirn they use same armour as on earth mostly (anything better than steel is rare).

Right, that's why every bandit and marauder I see is wearing Glass, Ebony, or Daedric- because they're soooooooo rare! Did we play the same game?

Sure, anything above steel is rare, and lead is one of the hardest metals.

I just have to finally say that every time this thread bobs back up to the surface, I think again that the value of the idea is pretty much summed up by the word "Dwermer."

and of course people not privy to the Lore would ask this question >_>

not only do Dwemer tech is nigh functional/replicatable by any of the other races, but the Other races have an innate fear of Advancing it tech of fear they would go the way of the Dwemer, also there have been advancements in the past, I.E Auto-Enchantment construct by the early mages guild that allowed any ol joe blow with no magical experience to forge powerful enchanted items.

Galrion destroyed it. want to know why? read the lore.

Speaking of Dwemer tech, there was that scene in the trailer that showed some plumbing/pipes and steam power.

No guns. NO guns.

Dwemer tech could make for some awesome in-game stories, but my feeling is that to fit the TES universe it should remain pretty mysterious. Something like a gun is far too... mundane... for me to feel good about it being associated with the Dwemer. Surveying equipment and cryptic maps are the most comprehensible objects I'd like to see them have (other than the entirely mundane and entirely useless - even Dwemer need dinner plates).

And of course there's the old, old argument, even if the Dwemer did leave guns behind, who would be daft enough to risk blowing themselves up experimenting with gunpowder, when you can pay a guy in a shop in your town to teach you a fireball spell, which unless you cast it on an enemy with reflection, is perfectly safe.
eeeeh, i wouldn't call teaching people to shoot flamethrowers from their finger tips "perfectly safe"

Exactly. Including muskets would be perfectly logical - a raw peasant with a week of training can use a musket to great effect - this is in contrast to the amount of training needed 2 become a proficient spell-caster or bowman.

You can continue to think it's so logical and good, but as a long-time TES fan and Bethesda fan in general, I can firmly say that it will never ever happen. It's like if Battlefield 3 would include spells and magic, which have been secretly been developed by the US government using meditation. It's so obvious that it becomes silly in my honest opinion.

You're pretty much just argumenting for yourself, and when you notice how many people dislike your ideas, you switch the poll answers so that it gets reflected the wrong way. You also don't have to make several threads about the same gun topics, it's enough with one, really.

I'm going to report you for spamming because of the repeated threads and this time's bumping.
I'm also going to report you for trolling because you intentionally switcing the poll answers after a while, so that "NO!" becomes "YES!". It pretty much baits into responding.

Good day.
