So I fixed his food processor and got the guy at Crimson Caravan to agree to deliver meat and spices at a discount, but the cook still acts like the quest isn't done.
One of my options speaking to him is "Where should I look for supplies again?" When I ask about spices, he says something about a researcher in the terminal building should be looking into that, but no-one in the terminal building will talk about spices. The only reward so far I've gotten is a discount on food.
Anyone know if this quest is broken or do I need to keep looking for other people to offer spices?

The same thing happened to me. I even went to the other people he recommended to see if I had to use all of them but they didn't have any dialogue options suggesting that. And he doesn't have any food or caps on him even if I wait 3 days. I fixed the food processor with 90 repair to I didn't have to get the parts. Maybe that is the problem?

That's a good question, I also repaired the processor with repair skill instead of bringing parts for it, hmmm...

The cook mentions there are no spices he knows of that improve mood, thus there are no dialogue options about getting any from anyone. What he wants is an item in Vault 22 labeled Food Additive, which is sitting next to a terminal that tells you why this is what he needs.

Unfortunately, whoever wrote this quest out made the spices portion rather opaque, which means the only way you would ever find this out normally would be by sheer luck when you talked to him while holding the additive (which is how I found out, btw).

How you fix the food processor does not matter, although if you decide to fix it via using parts you would be well advised to bring two pots instead of one due to the script being glitched where it checks to see if you have all the necessary items. I think it only uses up one of the two pots though, not sure as I wasn't really looking.

I found the info about the food additive on the Wiki actually and tried that. However, even though he thinks it's great I still get no exp or anything from him other than a discount on food, and he still has the option to ask about where to find the stuff he wants. /shrug Moving on...

General Masters: You are absolutely right about the two metal pots - but you do lose only one, the other's left in your inventory. As for the additive, yes, again, that's how I found out - I for some reason, thought that you're supposed to get the spices from the Crimson Caravan (but that's the exchange veggies for meat, right?)

On the other hand, you can just jury rig it
