Do enemy NPCs respawn in forts and such?

Post » Fri Dec 18, 2009 8:49 pm

I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not bandits and other NPCs that live in forts and caves will respawn like they did in Oblivion.
I would much rather this than it being like Fallout where after you cleared an area it stayed that way. I do understand that the new leveling system
would create some issues for this, but it would be nice if after clearing a cave maybe you come back later and it has be leveled up a little with more
enemies.

I'm pretty sure they respawn. I wouldn't want a dead world where I eliminated everybody.

I would imagine so. If not then it would be a big let down to me personally. Hope there is a in game option to set how long till they spawn without mods

Yeah that was exactly the problem I had with FO after you've been around the block a couple times there was no one left to kill.

That's not definite, nothing has been mentioned about this.

That would never happen. Even in Fallout, everything out in the wilderness respawned, it was only interiors areas that didn't, and not all of those.

Todd has confirmed that even dragons respawn, so yes there will be lots of creatures that respawn

EDIT: inside dungeons, not sure yet, but in the exterior world definitely

What would be the point really? If you've already been to a Fort etc. and cleared it out, it's pretty unlikely that you're ever going to go back there anyway. And it wouldn't make any sense that if I clear an area, three days later it's fully repopulated again. I wouldn't mind if there were a few new creatures/characters, but I found it rather silly in Oblivion that I could go up against the exact same enemies all over again after just a short delay. While I thought that Fallout went a bit too far in the opposite direction, I felt it was much better than the way it was in Oblivion.
