Bard songs that have wide AoE centered on caster like Charm, Fear, & Sleep would be awesome.

Indeed, especially considering the Elder Scrolls is only now dabbling into AoE spells.

I would love it if they implemented a musical type of item in the game. When I saw the Lonesome Drifters guitar in Fallout: New Vegas I was inspired with n idea that could work well for Skyrim.

You equip the guitar/lute like a weapon. Holding down the attack button plays music which you can switch out for other music or songs by selecting them from a menu. Maybe you collect them on you'r journeys or learn new ones as you level up.

The songs can have all sorts of effects on people nearby like boosting morale, calming them down, cheering them up, making them sad, scaring them.

I would love that.

Yep.
Imagine if the bards were minstrels like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsfG02DJ3Hc&feature=related
I'm wondering if the Bards in this game will be like that or more scholarly poet and writers. Maybe the younger attendees at the college will be like that. We did see some young looking bards with instruments in the trailer, the part with the sneak attack.

I would just grab and throw them out of my way lol or smokebomb and run...if bards are annoying in TES i will handle them in a similar fashion with my sword :obliviongate:

I've never found Bards to be particularly cool. In any game their present in their always in some supporting role cranking out lame buffs and what have you. Just the whole idea of mixing singing/dancing/playing instruments with combat is generally lame to me.
