Who would you want to start as if FNV had custom starts inst

A bunch of games in the past supported "custom" starts meaning the game would begin in a different place on the map for the character with particular origin, he would get particular bonuses related to his original faction (skill boosts and low-tier factional equipment) and typically would be tasked to complete a quest before he can get on track and start questing in the main line.

Let's say FNV supports custom starts and you can pick a place where you are spawned and have to do a small quest or two before you leave to find work as a Courier and the whole main story ensues.

Who would you pick and why?

Crimson Caravan, because I like to shoot things (bullets mostly, but anything will work in a pinch) and I'm a number crunching merchant at heart.

Boomers, blow some [censored] up!

And they have howitzers, which helps to blow [censored] up.

I crack myself up.

Caesar's Legion, as someone who was pressed into service or - if female - being a slave. In both cases the only goal for the start would be to desert from this misguided pack of rapists and other pervs.
In both cases I'd like to have the option to paint "DON'T WORRY, I'LL BE BACK SOON!" onto a rock near the Fort.

An evil Van Graff character would be cool, if I could ever play evil that is.

The alternate start would be sooo cool.

"the game would begin with a particular origin (dragon age: origins)." "Do a quest or two then start the main story(dragon age: origins)"
You are getting references from DA:O, right?

Anyways, I would side with the Brotherhood because I have a lot of respect for them.

I would think that starting out in the Boomers would be a lot like starting out in Fallout 2. I would definately like a bit of a remake, considering I would really like to understand a little more about the story of NCR rather than just asking around in Vegas.

The origins thing was way before DA. DA is just more current and popular but don't kid yourself thinking games now a days do anything new, they all copy off of eachother with ideas or they borrow them from books/movies/Tvshows/Older games...

I'd like to start off in the great khans or the boomers. The Khans because they are the down but not out group but I don't like survival so i'd probably go with the brotherhood even though they are one sided tunnel vission stupid heads lol. The boomers are different. They are ingenious and can adapt to their environment, as is with their history. Plus they all have grenade launchers which is pretty sweet and one of the best homebases.

None if they're anything like the way you described them. Brotherhood of Steel, unarmed? There's one unarmed BoS character in the entire game. NCR unarmed?

Well from the list, starting out as a NCR recruit at Camp McCarran would be doable.

But I always like to play poor scrib hunters in role playing games. Maybe starting out as a refugee in Freeside without even a lead pipe to your name. Have to survive a bare knuckle fight with one of the thugs to get his weapon.
