ED-E and Rex upgrades?

Thanks for answering the poll. I'm specifically wondering if taking Rex out on a hardcoe game and choosing Enhanced Attack Damage would be ok. Would Enhanced HP be necessary on hardcoe with him?

I found ED-E's enhanced Laser to be quite good at higher levels; he could take down scorpions alone. How good was the Armor if you got that?

Thanks for any help; it's ok to vote without comment or share some battle stories if you have them. :)

I went with enhanced armor for ED-E on my first playthrough, I haven't had a chance to try the weapon upgrade so far, though, so I can't really say which option is preferable.

I went with the damage upgrade for Rex, but since I wasn't playing in hardcoe mode and therefore the only threat was of my companions going unconscious in combat and not being able to help me, I can't say if I'd really recommend that option if you are using hardcoe mode. Because I'd imagine that improving your companion's defensive abilities would be a much more appealing option when there's actually a threat of said companion dying.

Either way, I don't see much point in bothering with the enhanced speed thing since the player still couldn't go any faster, so I'd choose between Lupa's or Rey's brain.

- ED-E svcks even with improved Laser so I prefer to have him tougher instead so he can take a few extra punches before I come to his rescue. Plus he looks cooler with BoS armor.
- I don't like Rex overall, he annoys me on many levels, starting with his perk, through how he runs away to die in a combat I haven't even noticed took place, and ending with how long he is and how he blocks corridors - but having tested all brains I see he is the best with improved damage overall since all you could possibly take him for instead of ED-E is his combat prowess.

I found ED-E's survivability with enhanced armor still svcking so I now go with Laser for a little more firepower and it seems to help. I've only given Rex Violetta's brain and I ususally trade him in after the quest to get ED-E back.

By the votes, it seems pretty firm that the Enhanced Attack Damage is the way to go with Rex no matter what.

And maybe not using him the whole game is the way to go...I'll have to try that.

Thanks.
