Weapon automatic reload

Post » Mon Jan 04, 2010 9:54 pm

When you fire the last bullet from your weapon, it automatically starts to reload, which takes forever and turns you into a sitting duck in the middle of a firefight.
Is there a way to turn it off? I want to be able to quickly switch to another weapon instead, OR manually choose if I want to reload the current one (perhaps after first taking cover).
Also, I don't like the auto reload of holstered weapons for immersive and realistic reasons. In short I want to be able to do as much as possible "by hand" (don't like the game controlling me).

Thanks!

I was actually hoping that hardcoe mode would disable automatic reload. Sometimes switching to a sidearm in combat rather than reloading can save your life... however, as soon as the gun starts to reload you can't even switch until it finishes the reload.

I know you can now interrupt the reload by pressing fire but sometimes this is not enough.
