Casino Problems

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2010 9:53 pm

I've done hours more of BJ and have run more numbers and found out that the Casinos are in fact "rigged" this is [censored], why can't Bethesda just leave it up to RNG? Over 600 hands that were dealt to me were 12,13,14 or 15, more than 90% of the dealers hands from the start had a face card. In 30 minutes time, the dealer from the get go hit BJ 13 times and me.....not once. I am absolutely convinced that the games are rigged, at least BJ. And the people that talk about what my "luck" skill is at? That right there PROVES that the game has some sort of "gimmick" behind it and is not purely RNG like it SHOULD be.

This totally kills the entire gambling experience for me. What a huge disappointment.

Luck actually plays a serious role in casino's. I have a luck of 10 and I get Blackjack mostly every hand.

Complains how BJ isn't completely random
IRL people count cards because there's X amount of cards
surely you can't be serious

Card counting doesn't determine when cards are dealt, though.

Seriously, I was really disappointed that there wasn't any Texas Hold 'em.

Considering how bad the enemy and companion AI's are in the game... I think asking for a basic poker game is asking a bit too much. It doesn't seem like they have any developers skilled in decent AI development. There's been only few games I've played with decent Texas Hold 'em AI's and those studios had dedicated teams for AI. The rest I could easily reverse engineer, break, and clean out of cash pretty easily.

Whether that is even relevant depends on how the game handles the deck. I havnt played in the casinos much so far but when I do ill certainly look into it. I suspect that the deck is reset inbetween each deal and thus makes card counting a waste of time. Also there are never any more players involved than the PC and the dealer which further reduces the value of card counting.

Also with a bad Luck stat in FNV you are going to be given bad hands to begin with which card counting can do nothing against even if it were possible within the game. In my opinion its best to have 5 Luck, otherwise you are just going to win/lose all the time which is boring either way.
