Fallouts biggest flaw

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:06 am

I rally enjoy Fallout New Vegas, even though i would like it to look more different then Fallout 3. The biggest problem for me though is that every environment basiclly looks the same. After you have been to one city, factory, house you have seen it all. I know its a big game but i still would love if there was more different looking environment and places. In the beginning of the game i really like to explore everything but after 10 hours or so it feels like you have seen everything and its not so fun to explore anymore. Any thoughts on this?

You are only 10 hours in, Maybe you should comment after 30 hours of exploration.

It's called a typo dude. If he had spelled "really" like reelly, or realley than I could excuse your pointing it out but unless you've never made a minor typing mistake than just don't... it's dumb and pointless and doesn't make you look like the smarter person.

OT: Yeah this kind of bugs me, mainly because they look the same from FO3. If they were new buildings and such to FO:NV and they were repeated within that game only it wouldn't bother me as much.

Time playing doesn't add to new things in the game (by that I mean the simple things). Yeah there are unique buildings in addition to the pre-made generic buildings but all the textures are the same to make those buildings. It's not a big deal to me I just think it would have made the game feel a little fresher had they retextured some of that stuff.

A typo isn't a reason, it's a thing. The reason you did it is because it makes you feel superior because you're so much "smarter" because you know how to spell "really".

Oh look at the smart guy.

It's better that it has a lot of same-y locations and some unique locations rather than forced unique locations.
Meaning: if there are too many unique locations then it will just seem very out of place and the idea bucket can only go so far, at some point ideas are gonna wear thin from previous games.
Better to save some cool places for another game or a DLC instead.
So far it looks really good though, and I've explored about 30% of the map.

Well, maybe you should have just held tight for the next oh 2-3 years till Fallout 4 comes out.

There were enough screenshots available prior to you purchasing it to know there would be a lot of re-hashed buildings.

I did not say i regret purchasing it, not at all. I just point out the thing that i think is the biggest flaw with the game and the one thing i would like to be different. When you have a big world to explore its important to feel like you want to see whats there and it fun to explore it. I still know its a lot to ask for though with a game this big.

Meh, this is a tired complaint. Want all-new graphics? Well, you would have had to wait a few more years.

I miss the days when game companies did this all the time (like Fallout 1 and 2 for instance) and people complained less. Stop being so spoiled.
