Dear Obsidian, please stop freaking me out. Thanks.

He had Rad-ex, not Rad-X

I didn't even have any radiation suit and only 6(?) Rayaway the first time I go there ~lv 15 because I thought it is just as simply as "insert the water chip ....."

I wasn't really phased by vault 34, although I walked past the reactor door and WAS NEVER ABLE TO FIND IT AGAIN  . I spent like 10 minutes trying to get back to reactor door, and the local map was no help. Eventually I decided to give up and just leave with the pulse gun.

The scariest Vault for me was vault 22. Even though after you realise where the carriers come from and that you can see them. I just hate them, their posture and their heads they just look too wrong. So I always go in with a high repair, in and out with very little interaction. Even looking at their bodies when they are dormant before being disturbed, knowing that they could get up and charge is just.. urggh.

The scariest game in general for me is Condemned, the breathing noises of the enemies plus your torch being flickery, I have never been as scared by a game. Especially in the abandoned shopping mall with the half mannequin half human enemies. Walk past mannequin, turn around it's either gone and you might hear some shuffling, or it's standing there with a weapon raised inches from your head.

Vault 22

Bring a Flamer and plenty of fuel. The way the little critters pop when you cook 'em is very satisfying. And torching those Carriers? Oh yeah, baby. Flamers = the one good reason to put points into Energy Weapons.

Carriers seem to be a retouched version of the creepy bastards from The Pitt (those things still scare me)

There are quite a few eerie sound effects in the game, but I found them to be a little more intense when I have to play quietly because the wife’s gone to bed. I don’t turn down the volume; I put on the head phones. No more distractions from outside sounds, just you and the in game sounds. She doesn’t hear the game, just me after something startles me.

Freaked me out....last night we met the Legendary Nightstalker. I have Animal Friend and so I didn't have to fight him, but he paces, comes up close, checks you out and I think that might be more nerve-wracking than actually having to fight him.

:ahhh:

i burned through pretty much all of my 9mm and 10 mm rounds in vault 34. I tried sneaking around but there were so many times I ended up shooting at nothing around a corner and ruined my stealth. Then i ended up unloading clip after clip to kill droves of ferals.

Now I wander into Camp Forlorn Hopes graveyard (which I've never gone down there before) to search for graves to dig up, and instead I come to find I have voices of the dead whispering at me.

had my headphones in, I thought my room was haunted.

I hate vaults mostly because I get hopelessly lost in them all the time.

First, Vault 34 freaked me out, mainly due to my IRL Zombie Phobia, and the new Feral sound effects dont help :stare:

Now I wander into Camp Forlorn Hopes graveyard (which I've never gone down there before) to search for graves to dig up, and instead I come to find I have voices of the dead whispering at me. Thanks for making my heart race Obsidian.....again. :cryvaultboy:

I HATED vault 34!

Don’t get me wrong, I can see why people might be into it, but the rads and the confusion of the layout didn’t scare me, they just stressed me out.

I’ve got enough things to stress about man.

I don't have an expensive audio setup, just cheap stereo speakers, two for the front with a filtered woofer and two for the rear with my output set to quad speakers.

While sneaking around at night I hear a sound from behind, my status still shows "Hidden" but the hairs on the back of my neck just stood up, I turn around to come almost face to face with a gecko hunter that was just wandering in my direction, I swear if I'd had 3D glasses setup they would have been carting me off to the hospital with heart failure.

My living room is basically a theater.

I have about 8 surrond sound speakers along it..
I play on a Projector Screen that covers the entire wall, And I play near Max Volume.

Vaults are even more scary then. :cryvaultboy:
