LOL At Gigantic Plot Hole with Benny. : Fallout: New Vegas

Okay So when I did my NCR playthrough, Benny Escaped the tops, but I never chased him down to Fortification Hill, So his fate, and that of the Platnium Chip are completely disregarded because nither of the 2 are mentioned in the final slides after the Damn battle.

What Gives? For Shame Obsidian! -_-

I fail to see how that is a plot hole. He inevitably died and Caesar continued to fail to open the doors.

If you didn't visit fortification hill, you missed some other major plot events.

That would require going to Fortification Hill. After which either you would get the chip back, or Lanius would fail to open the doors, if he even bothered attempting it.

Anybody else manage to kill Benny in the Tops? Or are you SUPPOSED to chase him to Fortification Hill?

I started a firefight in the Tops and managed to kill Benny when he apparently came down to fight in the lobby.

I started a firefight in the Tops and managed to kill Benny when he apparently came down to fight in the lobby.

First playthrough, I convinced him to invite me to his Suite where I killed him with Brass Knuckles.

You can do that either through Speech, or Black Widow.

Yeah, I managed to convince Swank he was a bad seed and he let me take out Benny in his suit with no repercussions.

I started a firefight in the Tops and managed to kill Benny when he apparently came down to fight in the lobby.

On my female char i slept with him, killed him in his sleep and then put his body in the bath tub. Then i filled the bath tub with empty whiskey bottles and jet containers. I didnt do a good job though because they still all knew it was me :angry:

I wouldn't say it's a plot hole. Caesar was going to kill Benny even if you didn't show, and since you have to trash the Legion and kill House in an NCR victory Benny, the chip, its secrets and Caesar are irrelevant.

I went to the balcony above Benny and dropped five C4 packs in front of his feet.

Worked great, but it took a long time to find his corpse in order to loot it. I think Mr. House just tells you to go to the Fort if you talk to him, or you can bypass that quest line entirely.

Okay let's say hypothetically you killed benny, got the chip, yes man tells you what it does, and then you decide to Side with the Legion or NCR. Shouldn't that have opened some diologue options and thus made an additional ending available?

No. All the Chip does is upgrade the Securitrons and open a door. It does nothing else. Like, at all. It's software drivers.

That isn't a plot hole. The NCR story doesn't involve the securitrons or the chip. Why would they?

I forgave him, but blew his head off when his posse showed up with guns.

I hacked him up with the Machete in the halls after Swank sent him to his room. :mohawk:
