skyrim loot

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:40 am

I have been playing Oblivion and Fallout 3 recently, and I am wondering wether they will keep the same Oblivion type loot where shop keepers will follow you around and report you for looting, and will also not buy stolen items. or more Fallout type, where they dont pay much attention to you wondering around, but still notice you stealing. but they will buy stolen goods.

and also wether or not shopkeepers will have a set ammount of money they can spend like Oblivion, or their money changes depending on what is bought or sold.

It would seem like the Fallout type would be best, but it could effect alot of different ways thief's can steal and sell their money.

I hope it's like fallout 3.

How the hell do they know I stole the weapons i'm selling to them, you shouldn't be able to sell weapons you just stole from them or weapons or armour with some history behind them.

The only things you shouldn't be able to sell to merchants are items you stole from them, or very, very rare items. (like a one of a kind longsword)

why not one of a kind items?
you would expect a merchant to want to buy a rare item. for a high price aswell probably?
and they could be bought back easily.

Because they would know who the rightful owner is as they'd have heard stories of this rare item

but if it is a unique item that wasn't stolen from someone, but found in a dungeon or such, they shouldn't have any reason not to buy it.

I hope they come up with a new loot system overall, something that refines everything they've done throughout the series. I'm sure there will be more info at E3 regarding inventory or the interface, I'd hope.
