Hardmode, 1000 saves

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:11 pm

Hello ,

I like the idea that u not have the possiblity to make endless savegames. But cant evalutate now how many saves i will need in game total. I think 1000 saves are a lot but I don′t know how large the world is
and how many saves I will need in the lategame. So it would be very nice when u have on Hardmode an other possibilty to save the game.

For example: that u can only do savegames in salons or bars etc in towns, or on placese where u can sleep. In larger Dungeons u can add little points which allows the player to save the game.

I'm a major savaholic. I'm up to 2539 in FO3 (I've still not finished all the DLC's) and still going.

In Oblivion and FO3, I'll periodically use 7zip to compress and archive old saves and delete the originals. It keeps numbering them from the last one. I'm really hoping that the same will be true in FO:NV, and frankly don't see why it wouldn't be.

1000 saves means slots, not how many times you can save. Example im on save 38, but am only using 1 slot out of 1000.

i don't think you 1000 saves.... that's 1000 different save files... not that you can only save 1000 times.

This is a sure fire way for there to be a large amount of rage when you get a game breaking bug

Why limit them at all? Dead is dead. That should be enough for you.

they limit it to 1000 SLOTS because thats actualy been the limit of the thingy all the way back to morrowind. It stops saving new saves as soon as you reach it so you have to remember to delete old saves from time to time..... Im already on save 300...

1000 slots? Are you guys on PC? I'm on 360 and it says I only have 100 slots for saving.

It varies I think.

F3 also had this "limit" though you couldn't see it.

Same here (compressing them up with 7Zip and moving them elsewhere). Although the main reason that I do that in Fallout 3 is because things get a bit squirrelly if you have too many save files (rumor, innuendo, not proved?). So I try to keep less then 100 save files available, with the rest archived and moved elsewhere.

Well that's odd if that's the case. I had 100s of saves in Fallout 3 on the 360. That's 100s of save slots, by the way. I never reused save slots, for whatever reason.

Me three.

I don't like scrolling through all those saves, especially when Bethesda doesn't let me give them names. Like I'm supposed to remember that save 376 is before diving underwater when I was in that cave.

They get archived, the originals deleted, and I move on. I learned to do this with Gothic and even used a system where save # 6 was "okay," 7 was danger, 8 was talking, 9 selling, and so forth.
