My platform of choice has always been a PC (and I was a bit of a fangirl). I used to have a fairly good PC for gaming, and an Xbox elite, but I always preferred the PC for RPGs (incidentally, my favourite kind of game).

However, when I left home I lost all that, and haven't been able to game properly for a couple of years now. Since I don't have a desktop at all, nor a laptop which could possibly run Skyrim, I've been saving up for an Xbox, which is my most affordable option. I was all grumpy about it at first, but actually... I mean, there area few pluses to gaming on a 360 rather than a PC (namely laying on the couch, shaking controller on impact). While I'm going to miss the player mods and customisability of a PC rpg experience, I'm looking forwards to the new Xbox experience to see how it compares.

PC for the better graphics, stable and good framerate, and mods. Mods ensures that a fantastic game will only get better with time and that I'll still be playing it until the next Elder Scrolls game, just like with Oblivion and Morrowind.

PS3 because I don't have 1000 € to spend on a super set worthy of Skyrim anyways. :)

I'm a former xbox owner and a current ps3 owner. I first played OB on my old 360, got every achievement, etc. Needless to say I loved that game. So when I got my ps3 (which I got because my xbox had red ringed too many times and it was the last straw) imagine my surprise when the OB ps3 version didn't even have any trophies or anything to achieve. I know Bethesda prefers the Xbox when it comes down to it so I was wondering if I should buy a new Xbox so that I'll have one come the time this game comes out. Do the xboxes still have major technical problems or no?

You could just stick with your PS3 and save money. I think PS3 has trophies too. If your worried about the DLC,then maybe xbox. I don't think we know what bethesda is going to about DLC this time, but if microsoft has their way,the DLC will be on xbox first. It seems to be a trend now. As to the technical problems of xbox, well, thats got better. The new xbox would be the better choice,if decide to buy one, they are quieter, and i and friends ( touch wood ) have had no problems yet. Also putting games on the hard-drive was a godsend fot the 360. I'll not lie,i have had alot of xbox's since 2005 up untill now. Before i bought my new 250Gb xbox i had an elite. I had that elite for two and a half years. I put almost every game on my hard-drive,thats why i believe the xbox lasted aslong as that. If you are comfortable with PS3 stick with it...Do you prefer PS3 onlly games,or xbox only games, which console have most of your friends got?

Either console will be fine, but if your worried about DLC,then maybe xbox,we'll see what bethesda does. I think everyone ( no matter the platform ),should get the DLC at the same time,it's only fair. But you could also argue that, if microsoft are willing to spend money to make money, sony should do the same,DLC wise...it's just the way business is. My persomal opinion though,is everyone should get DLC and at the same time,we all buy the game,so why not. The xbox's don't RRoD the same anymore, but like anything electrical, be it a TV,Toaster or console, things can go wrong. If you want to save money keep your PS3 and wait to see what bethesda does regarding DLC.

I've tried to be fair here,and not be biased...Hope i've helped :)

PC.
It's not as expensive as many people are led to believe. Yes, the initial cost can be a bit much, but it's well worth it.
Not to mention if you build your own, you can always migrate parts from one build to another. The CPU cooler is the oldest part in my computer, then the motherboard, then CPU.... You get the point. I chose a system designed around the upgrade-ability of it, and since most games are console ports, I haven't had to truly upgrade the system for almost 2 years. I don't really consider case mods as upgrades, but yeah, it's been in this condition since the Radeon 5800 series debuted back in late 09. Even new games run fullspeed with all eyecandy on....

PC Specs: Motherboard: MSI K9A2 Platinum v.1 790FX | CPU: PhenomII 720 oc @ 3.4Ghz | RAM: 4GB DDR2 800 | GPU: Crossfire Radeon 5850| PSU Corsair TX750 | 1080P 22" monitor - all other specs unnecessary.

Consider this for a moment as well: Many people have had to purchase multiple XBOX360s because they break. I have friends who have shelled out over $800 on just consoles because they break. My system gets a periodic makeover, but after the initial "bank buster" I've saved money over my friends through these minor updates.

PC. Though I'll probably have to upgrade some stuff and I have no aptitude for that sort of thing so I'll just throw money at someone else to do it for me.

Why do people buy multiple copies of the same game for different platforms?

Believe it or not I started my Elder Scrolls journey on the original Xbox. I rented some old game called "Morrowind" and admittedly found it boring for the first fifteen minutes. Then, after realizing I could do whatever I wanted and having never experienced such freedom in a fantasy game before, I got hooked. Before I knew it I had to have the GOTY edition, which rocked significantly harder.

Then I heard about mods on the PC... Absolutely blew my mind. I'll admit it took me a while to get use to installing them and figuring out load orders but wow, once I did it was game over. I've been utterly spoiled by the epic modding community Beth has and simply cannot go back to my console days.

I used to be an Xbox only player, played my first ever TES game on Xbox (Morrowind) and then carried that over to Oblivion.

That was, up until late 2009 when i got Morrowind and Oblivion for PC and discovered the wonders of Mods and the Console (~). And i havent looked back since.

I may, however, buy it for Xbox after some time passes and the price comes down. There's just something about playing on a 50" TV that appeals to me

I'll go PC either way, Steam's not even an issue. I like the mods and being able to play it on a laptop.

What about Steam? Skyrim has Steam support? or not? Don't really care that much either way.
