Interaction with Giants

Post » Sun Jan 31, 2010 2:38 pm

Are giants going to be just like any other creature in the game? They seem kinda civilized. Will they maybe be non-hostile? Will they attack you simply by you approaching them? Maybe you could even talk to them... I mean, dragons supposedly have a language which they speak, so maybe certain giants can speak to the player. Maybe you could even do a quest for one. Thoughts?

Sorry if there's already a topic about this. I haven't seen one.

I'd heard that they herd mammoths, and I assumed they weren't aggressive, but how in depth I wonder will we be able to interact with them? That's kinda more the question I had in mind.

Talking with them? Who knows, maybe a certain quest here and there. It'd be kinda cool ;)

I can't wait to see how finishing moves look like on them though.

Oooo, finishing moves on a giant... those could be either really cool or really awkward. That'll be interesting. And I'm thinking maybe you'll be able to interact with them the way you can interact with certain super mutants in FO3 and FONV.

As in stupid, herp derp giants? I want some of them to be intelligent, hell, even a few wise ones that live on top of mountains with dragon bones surrounding them :o

and I'm pretty sure the finishers will look fine.

In one review/preview the commentator said a giant lumbered past him without a downward glance, so it seems they will not be all hostile all the time, which is good. I would hope they would be interactable, as they seem to be, as you mentioned, at least semi civilized.

If you think about how Oblivion was very hyped up with all these pretty words describing radiant AI and NPC conversations for example, it kind of seems like the same thing when they go on about how you could run into "a giant that feels very forgiving as it passes you while you lay low" or whatever they said exactly. It seems more like they're gonna be completely non-hostile until you attack them.

Whatever, we'll see.
