Here. When you click any armor, it'll give you "locations" there: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_armor_and_clothing

It's worth noting that I spend 98% of the game in Reinforced Leather using Travel Light perk. I have heavier armor under hotkey to quickly swap when **** hits the fan.

Depends on what you think qualifies as "good"

I love the reinforced leather. In my book, it's pretty awesome and definitely qualifies as "best" in the game. 2nd best armor in the game is the Mk II Combat Armor.

Power armor comes in dead last in my book. Remnants armor takes too long to get. The rest of it is just garbage because it's too heavy and impairs you Agility. I don't like to wear anything that negatively affects any of my attributes.

What I can't figure out is why my first character can't find reinforced leather armor. He is 11th and still hasn't seen a set. Not even from a vendor. Lots of metal (hate it for him), leather, NCR, Legion, and Powder Ganger, but no reinforced. My second character found a set of reinforced in the Bison Steve (at 2nd level) and has no trouble finding it. For him it is metal that is hard to find, and of course, that is what I like for him. Overall I like reinforced. If things get up close and ugly I want something like metal. I don't like the faction armor as it will get you killed. Ooops forgot I was wearing that PG Guard armor and now I'm dead because some NCR git could make it out at 1000 yards...at night.

I would like the space suit better than reinforced leather if I could fix it myself. It is expensive to get repaired.

Yup.

Plus, power armor is the only armor type with a weapon class designed specifically to defeat it.

I just finished killing an entire bunker of Paladins. At first I was wearing power armor, but I kept getting fried by pulse weapons.

So, I ditched the armor and went with DT 6 Bounty Hunter Duster. I had to duck behind a pillar and pop a super stimpak once (in hardcoe mode), but that's all.

I think light armor is best for a ranged fighter for sure!

You can - radiation suits/advanced radiation suits will repair it. You can even find one free over by Clark Field, and they are pretty commonly sold by Crimson Caravan.

Thanks for the info. I do have that suit from Clark Field, but I didn't have it on me when I had the space suit. Now I know....and knowing is half the battle...damn, channeling GI Joe again.

you have to get 5 "points".

Take him to Dr. Hildern (SP?) at McCarren, and talk to him about the OSI. +1

Take him to the Fort. He will say hes scared, tell him you just want to talk to Caesar and that youll leave right away. Fast travel outta there right away.+3

Helios quest: Direct power to Freeside. +1

Visit crashed vertibird.+1

That should trigger the quest.

Not quite, as a range fighter the ability to sustain damage and allow you to focus on aimming is more important.

That being said, light armour in general have decent DT/Weight ration; with Sub-dermal armour, Whiskey Rose and toughness, you would have sufficient DT to deal with most enemies.

Others does so much damage than high DT doesn't make much difference......
