Such a shame

You know, I knew Obsidian didnt have the best history with games. Kotor 2, while not entirely their fault, is a shining example of what this company is capable of (I wont even mention AP). To be completely honest, Fall Out: New Vegas is one of the most bug ridden games I have ever played (that actually had the budget the devs had) and that's saying alot considering I play alot of mmos.

For the record, I enjoyed this game as I invested 46 hours into my first playthrough. It's my second playthrough that I'm actually exploring and doing more sidequests thats bothering me. I can see now where the reviews are coming from when they say some quests just dont work... and they're right. There are alot of broken quests that shouldve never made it past QA. Seriously, theres times when I playing this that I need to just shake my head and wonder how in the hell this got past QA.

This, Obsidian, is where you show your worth. I dont care why or how you rushed this game out the door.. just fix it. I understand the time and effort that went into creating FONV, and I appreciate it (I really do), but this series deserves more than a rushed release with little to no support.

For your information (this is to all game devs, not just Obsidian), I dont like being forced to do your QA work. I dont like having to create a forum account to list bugs I found in your game without being paid. I'm playing (and paying) for entertainment and If you cant pay someone $5 an hour to sit there and find bugs, you dont need to be releasing games (especially for Bethesda). Fact is, you dont have Lucas Arts to blame this time. This game was released filled with bugs and rushed out the door by you. Now please fix it.

Fallout 2 had the same issues as this game. In the end, it ended up being my all time favorite game. Things like bugs and broken quests can get fixed with patches. Let's just hope the devs care enough about their product to fix it up. because honestly, this game has the potential to dethrone Fallout 2. B)

Yes it will dethrone Fallout 2 but not Fallout 3. Fallout 3 ran perfectly smooth, New Vegas does not. I have a very good system able to play all the latest games maxed out, but I have issues with New Vegas. IMO, this is where the problem lies. Bethesda did Fallout 3 and Obsidian was not involved. Now Obsidian is involved and the game has nothing but problems. I do not think the game was optimized correctly and should have been tested more. I sure hope it will be fixed with future patches. As it stands right now I think Fallout 3 was far superior to New Vegas.

I'm sorry to fall to this level, but

From what I've heard, the broken quests etc. are mostly on PC which tells me that it is the fault of extremely diverse rigs across the industry rather than of faulty QA. But, yes, it would be true that Obsidian does have a bit of a reputation for unpolished games.

Thanks for the heads up Expresate . I am really looking forward to playing this game the way it was meant to be played. I will be keeping my eyes open for any new patches that will help.

Eats food...I did not say that Fallout 3 was better than Fallout 2, I said that Fallout 3 was better than New Vegas, so far. Read it again.

Not for me. Indeed, for me it's the opposite. NV runs fine with the biggest bug being radscorpions in rocks and one instance of Veronica freezing which I fixed with a reload, while FO3 had a laundry list of bugs, including some that were never ever fixed by Bethesda. And some that were added by Bethesda in their patches. :(

You're entitled to your opinion. I'm also entitled to think you're nuts for holding it.

So yeah. I think you're nuts. Or looking back at Fallout 3 with rediculously rose colored glasses.

You said that F:NV is > Fo2
You said that Fo3 > F:NV ("So far")

Agree, agree, and agree. FO3 did have a few bugs/glitches, but I'm like you...I've never seen a high-profile game this buggy. Once it's fixed, I think it can be better than FO3...maybe. FO3 was such an amazing game. What I've actually been able to play so far has been really good, with the exception of the technical issues.

Thanks nvtephantom for your confirmation. I am not here to argue with eats food and the corporal. Their opinion is their opinion, and that's all it is .
