I think I've found a new Endgame bug

***Endgame spoilers, continue at your game enjoyment's peril***

Ok, so here's where my game's at now:

1. I've wiped out Caesar's camp.
2. I completed the NCR storyline up to the decision phase.
3. I completed the Yes Man (Independent Vegas) storyline up to the decision phase and executed it, which activated the Endgame and took me to Hoover Dam where the final battle between NCR and Legion is already happening.
4. I've upgraded the securitron army and routed power from Hoover Dam to them up at Fortification Hill. More carnage at the Legion camp, explosions are seen from Hoover Dam on the Hill.
5. I've gone back into the Hoover Dam offices and activated the NCR decision phase via Colonel Moore.
6. I've been taken to General Lee Oliver for a briefing.
7. He lists my accomplishments thus far, INCLUDING activating the Securitron army at Fortification Hill by remarking the explosions (part of the Independent Vegas/Yes Man storyline).
8. I get the chance to comment on my securitron army (presumably standing outside his office) in 4 different ways, all leading to the same line from Oliver:

"And... uh... well. These uh... these boys with you? Hello, there, smiley."

You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7sEJSvHahQ&hd=1

After that, you can hear securitrons arming their upgraded weaponry, but the game gets stuck there in cinematic mode, I'm stuck to the spot I'm standing on, the door behind me doesn't open, and Oliver just shuffles nervously in his seat.

So obviously the devs had thought of this permutation of events (accepting two endgame paths) and had scripted a somewhat humorous consequence for it. What I want to know is has anybody gotten further than I have without the game jamming stuck there?

Oh screw it, if nobody's seen this yet, can someone with a suitable savegame test this out, see if this can be repeated? All you have to do is accept the Yes Man endgame, then accept the NCR endgame through Colonel Moore midway.

Well most of us won't be trying to break the game by accepting the endgame missions from two different factions. Still, you shouldn't be able to get the quest from a second faction after starting it for someone else.

This isn't as bad as the companion quests breaking in the middle of them. At least you have to deliberately screw yourself to break the endgame.

I have finished the game for all of the factions and had no problems. The hard part is doing the quests leading up to the end in a way that doesn't leave everyone dead. I still need to find a way to keep the BOS from being exterminated. I feel like crap killing them after travelling with Veronica. Like I'm betraying her by killing her people.

Now I need to get Arcade to give me his side quest. (hopefully it's not broken for me)

I'd agree with you if the game didn't actually seem to have been *prepared* for the unlikely scenario you did choose two endgames. Did you happen to watch my video? Did you get that sequence at the end of your Independent Vegas playthrough or does it seem unique to you? Either way I have a clean savegame on standby if I can't find a way to fix this.

I finished the game (or am close to) without needing to kill or alienate any faction, and I'm pretty sure I could repeat it no matter who I sided with, except for Mr House, who doesn't seem to budge about wiping out the BoS no matter what diplomatic solution you come up with.

The lines Oliver is saying are the endgame lines from
Spoiler
AFTER you kill Lanius, when he breaks throught the fort door, right before you get to throw Oliver off the dam.

Since you triggered the end game with the yes man option, the scrpiting must have spooled up Oliver's end game dialog. The bug is that you shouldn't be able to accept the second end game option via Moore. Definitly a bug, probably a game breaker, and you should post this in the offical bug thread so Obsidian can patch it.

yea see i have some sorta similar problem. i cant do the "You'll know when it happens" quest for NCR because i did it for yes man. but colonial moore still sets me up for the quests. and everybody goes crazy since theres so much going on. and then it somtimes freezes. but bottom line is i dont want to work for yes man anymore i want to help NCR and my game is making that impossible
