Mods for Oblivion you would want built into Skyrim?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:37 pm

Since FONV seemed to take ideas from FO3 mods, what Oblivion mods would you want as vanilla Skyrim features?

I REALLY want the "Harvest Flora" and "Harvest Container" mods for Oblivion that show plants picked or containers open if they been searched. :turned:

Alternative Start.

If it isn't available in Vanilla Skyrim, I want to make it so you can arrive in TONS of different ways. :)

At this point we don't really know what will be necassary, and what wont as we have no idea what the game will include or lack.
I look forward to any graphic enhancing mod, as well as new armours and weapons, but it's hard to say for sure at this point what may be needed.

I meant mods that add extra features to the game, above what past games had. So yeah graphics don't count in that. :P

For example FO:NV had weapon modifications system and hardcoe mode that weren't in FO3.

Something like Quest Award Leveling, that automatically upgrades your quest magic items as you gain levels. The same as the Crusader Relics do.

Well if they're going to continue with fast travel, I would like to use "Map Marker Overhaul", and most likely DarN is going to make a UI for it.

Oh, and Arthmoors "Open Cities" if the cities aren't open already.

SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender), SKMM (Skyrim Mod Manager) and BSKSS (Better Skyrim Sorting Software).

They aren't mods per se, but I still want them.

These too.

Beg my pardon, I thought you were asking what mods we wanted for TESV.

I must admit, Oblivion was lacking a lot of things that i'd like to see in Skyrim, the obvious things that come to mind are things like new categories of weapon, Spears and Crossbows as mentioned in the other thread. Also changes to the way things work like the persuasion system, a complete Guard overhaul with regards to detection and perhaps horseback combat or more gore.

I think you are seeing this wrong.
He means (I believe), what mods that were in Oblivion would you like to see Bethesda actually include in Skyrim.
In this case, Harvest Flora, realistic sleep/hunger/thirst mods (Only not as influencial), Sailable ships (But there isnt a lot of water in skyrim, is there?), birds, lots of the abilitys and effects from Midas Magic, Open Cities (Like morrowind), etc...

Hundreds of different magick spells. Im tired of having my mage/wizard characters having to resort to clubs and other barbarous means of attack/defense. Oblivion improved upon Morrowinds magick system, but work needs to be done there. Or maybe not, they might have already addressed this in TES5 without us knowing yet (lol hopefully).

Dismemberment please. Arterial spray please. For parents worried about their children being exposed to that sort of violence...Its not a childrens game.

Orcs with "Orc voices". Khajiit with "Khajiit voices". Etc, it goes without saying.

There are two:

Plants picked should be obvious by looking at them. This was done in Fallout: New Vegas, so it's likely for Skyrim

Even more, I would like lighted windows at night.

How about Marksman Velocity, any of the gold-based Mercantile mods, range-based Marksman (Mount and Blade does this, too), Harvest Flora, Willful Resistance, and the magicka-based progression mods as a starting point?

A nicely detailed color in game map would be awesome, especially if it was drawn in the style of the Morrowind paper map.

Hehe, why doesn't Bethesda just hire Dari(sorry I forget your name). Well I am hoping there is no invisible walls. I loved how in the mods, you have towns or what ever outside of the province and be able to scout other lands. Not sure how this could be implemented in Skyrim though.

Then again, I don't think my PC will be able to run Skyrim so it's 360 for me.

Travelling merchants / crowded roads.

Also some form of companion system would been nice, or at least that they made it easier for players to mod good companion mods.

DarNified UI, Unnecessary Violence, Deadly Reflex, Open Cities, Harvest Flora & Harvest Container, Martigen's Monster Mod...

In general, I want the menus to be prettier, the combat to be better and more versatile, boxes and plants to look "used" so you don't have to try and remember what you've looked through and what you haven't, open cities and more variety in creatures. :)

Well I hope the devs took into account which were the best mods for OB and place some of those features in future projecxts, TES V included of course. Although I'm sure the game will look amazing, visual enhancement is always nice as well as stuff like mroe realistic and diverse water, creatures, flora etc...things like Midas should definitely be updated to TES V.
