I was doing a quest, I saved and turned off my xbox. I come back 2 hours later, load up my save and my followers aren't there.. Where are they?

Check there home locations, and there is another place they might be at if you are far along enough in the main quest.

Try Fast Traveling somewhere, see if they appear.

Check last known location. You may have put them on wait or the game did.

Keep looking buddy.

I have ED_E sensor perk, but he (it?) has been M.I.A for about two in game weeks and several hours of play time.
What I did was went back to the last known save where I had him, and retraced my steps backwards with my newest save. No dice. Went to primm. Nothing. Went to BOS bunker. Nothing.
ED-E is gone.

He did not die, I never got a dialog about about it.

ED-E is either

1)Stuck in the nether.
2)Stuck in the walls/ceiling.
3)????

Wish I knew where he went, he was carrying my emergency supply. I had 5 S.stims. 2 caravan lunches. some clean water, and food. As well as a backup weapon and ammo.

Did you check the Lucky 38 casino?

When you go into Mr. House's penthouse, they are put on wait down at the elevator, something I didn't realize.

Eventually, if you can't find where they are (usually Lucky 38 or your motel room in Novac), they will reset to their spawn location. I lost ED-E for a good week of in-game time but then I got a message saying he went back to Prim, just had to talk to him.

I wish the game gave you notifications when it auto-strips you of your allies and where they went (such as when entering the penthouse or a quest that's marked solo), but they usually turn up eventually. You can use the wait or sleep command to help things along.

I also had problems with darkly lit areas, when I got the silent running perk. They would stop following me, I would have to backtrack numerous times and I'd always find them sitting down at a spot.

So, I got a bright idea: I turned on my Pip Boy light. Didn't have a problem after that. It was a nice touch - basically, the game's considering me sneaking, but the companions are not, and because we're in poorly lit areas, they can't see me, so they can't follow me; they just wait at the last location they did see me. Rex is horrible with this, even though he's a dog. Oh well.

Anyone else having this type of issue?

Yeah, it is something to pay attention to. I have found other instances of my companion being set to 'Wait' out of the blue. Luckily I noticed they weren't following and went back to check on them and saw that the game had decided to set them on 'Wait' for some inexplicable reason. Most likely a bug or glitch getting triggered based off of the Lucky 38 script getting called at the wrong time or something.

It is your imagination. I Sneak everywhere and don't use the Pipboy light and my companions have no problem following and sneaking with me. Oh, and yeah, I have the Silent Running perk too.

Similar thing happened to me.

Still have a perk, no death notice, companion not present.

I was really hoping they fixed this kind of stuff in New Vegas. Losing companions is so frustrating.

I wish they put in some kind of command to respawn lost companions.

I seriously lost 8 hrs of gameplay just because I wanted to go back for my lost companion. Arrgh
