A modded Oblivion is so much better than Vanilla that it blows the mind. Playing the original game feels like an old Beta to me now.
Also, it runs rather poorly on the 360, even when installed to the HDD. It may run very good in interior cells, but riding a horse outdoors (or in some places just looking around stationary) actually stutters more than it does on my pathetic P4 2.8GHz CPU, and that is ridiculous.

I had no problems running Oblivion on my 360, even on the hard drive or running off the disk.
I say stick with the PC version for the following reasons:
1. Real men play only PC games
5. See #1

I'd agree with everything you say except for 1 and 5. You can say real men don't play games on the PC only nerds lol. yes I am a big nerd. But I play most games on consoles now, I hate upgrading my computer to play new games all the time.
It all depends on what you want? I loved playing Oblivion on my 360 because my computer at the time couldn't play Oblvion. I had a great time playing on it. Beautiful graphics, running smoothly without problems. The ocasional freeze, but that is like on a PC anyways. I can play on my couch and lie down or where I want. Now I got a new laptop and installed Oblivion on it, and installed mods on it, I have a hard time playing it on the 360. I just love the mods I downloaded and installed. It looks so much nicer now.
But the question you need to ask is, what do you want? Do you want nicer graphics and smoother play? It sounds you do, so get it for the 360, it might be a better experinace for you. Do you want to sit on your computer chair or on the couch? I guess you can try renting the game first to see if you like it. Then again it only costs about $20 now, so go ahead if you can fix it.
