Pretty Rose's stupid hat

Post » Fri Mar 12, 2010 12:49 am

Okay this may contain spoilers for those who want to keep the potential companions a surprise.

My question is about Cass. I've had her as a companion for a while now, and her cowboy hat is getting on my nerves. Is there any way I can make her take it off?
I've tried giving her other (nicer) headwear, but she refuses to wear most. She will settle for things like the Combat Helmet of course, but that's even less stylish than her default hat.

Any help would be very welcome. I just can't look cool walking the Strip in my checkered suit having her following me with that annoying hat xD

Thank you (:

Ehhh... well, the hat has to have a bigger Damage Threshold then her default, which I think has 0. She wears the NCR Ranger Helmet, but not the armor... rrrrrrgh... so yeah, just keep looking for anything with a DT.

If you are on the PC you can use a console command to take it off.

Yes I know, but I'm on PS3 so that's not going to work I'm afraid.

Is it correct that most 'normal' clothes don't have any DT? The hats, at least. Stuff like other cowboy hats, pre-war hats etcetera don't show any DT in my game.
Pretty odd, stuff like that all had DR in FO3, which allowed for much greater variation in companion's clothing. Characters like Butch and Clover at least, who had default clothing with very low DR.

I was hoping we could just tell the companions what to wear. In FO3 you could dress up Butch like a slave from The Pitt, but in NV you can't even tell them "lose the hat lol plz" D:

It's strange, because you CAN tell Boone what to wear, you can take off his clothes, his glasses, and his beret, which he'll kindly ask you back for when you do. I think they just... missed Cass.
