Idea to expand content beyond XBOX disc limitation..

Post » Wed Mar 17, 2010 2:10 am

Todd did mention that they are not restricted by current gen capabilities.

Todd is just blowing smoke.

It's more profitable to say, "Yeah we're more than fine with what's there right now." Rather than, "Yeah it's a real pain in the ass to try and develop for platforms that are separated by so many years of advancement."

They could always highly suggest that you install the data on the extra discs onto the XBox (or onto a supporting USB super-drive), just sayin'...

Im hoping that Skyrim ends up just being one disc, but going back to the TC's first post, I would not mind at all downloading a few extra dungeons or something like that to get the full game.

I don't see the 360 having a problem, space wise. New Vegas was only 4.8 GB's of data and that's not a small world, Skyrim should be no different. Also enough with this DLC crap, Skyrim should be great at day 1 not average at day 1 because they focused too much time adding in crappy DLC's. DLC shouldn't be needed to make the game better it should be an addition that makes it more fun to play long term.

I believe it will only be one disk as I can't see them doing multiple disks, I mean you expect them to be able to copy every dungeon correctly for both disks or 3 disks, It won't happen.

Would anyone mind downloading free DLCs at launch for hypothetical full content?

There's no way that Microsoft would go for free DLCs using their system, they'll at least want to recover the costs of doing so and would most likely expect to make a profit. So that idea is dead in the water to begin with.

Microsoft doesn't allow having mandatory installs? Then don't make it mandatory!!

What I mean is, if they need 2 or more discs then make it 2 or more disks. Those who are smart cAn install them to their xbox hdds. The game can be played either way, although it's easier just installing those extra discs! Maybe even have a "we recommend x amount of hdd space for the best experience" on the case or manual.
