Reload lag bug

Post » Fri Mar 26, 2010 6:47 pm

This bug has been identified many times on these very same forums starting from the release date of this game.

This bug is easily replicated, well documented, and confirmed by the big wigs.

Yet it has been 5+ weeks without a single thing done to correct it. These weapons are the staple of the early, mid, and late game for most ranged characters yet harbor some very frustrating times every time a player has to reload. Completely unacceptable to become unable to attack/move for 5 seconds while an enemy can still attack me. If it was a split second lag then it wouldn't bother me so much. But 5 seconds is eternity in this first person shooterish game.

I'd be willing to bet that whenever the comprehensive patch releases, this will be one of the fixes. This is widely known and I'm sure they're working on it just be patient.

Easy work around: pull the trigger on your weapon one time after the animation ends, it will break the lock. You will not be able to do this if you're reloading in the middle of a VATS sequence.

Actually you are wrong - in the last PC patch they said they fixed it, but instead managed to break it for EVERYONE rather than just the few people the bug originally affected. Hopefully it gets fixed, being forced to use an external mod to be able to use those guns is a band-aid fix at best, and shouldn't be required.
