The high cost of soda.

Just thought it's curious that you can loot some vending machines for soda, but others are considered stealing. Especially in places that are friendly. What I would assume is that you should be able to either loot those machines or BUY the soda (since you get the cap back anyways, you get the soda which is valuable so maybe it's 5 caps or a similar price).
It seems like the economy is strong enough in NV that you don't need to worry about every cap but I'd like to have a realistic option to buy soda.
Just thought it was odd that you never have the option to buy soda out of a machine.

You can't buy the soda because soda machines don't accept bottlecaps. They're probably just used as soda specific fridges.

If there were a price in caps, based off their sell price, expect it to be closer to 20 caps.

I was wondering about that as well, actually. You should technically be able to use pre-war money to buy from machines that are still working, no? Or perhaps after 200yrs, the money taking/drink dispensing mechanism no longer works?

The money may be too degraded to be recognizeable. Or the machine may only take quarters, dimes, nickles.

True, but have you even SEEN quarters, dimes, or nickles, or COINS for that matter besides Legion Denarius and whatever other coins the Legion uses????

Why not pay mutilated body parts instead? I've got a van chock-full of them in the back :)
