Hi guys,

Well I bought the PC version of Oblivion. I got the GOTY version at the store (DVD) and I first installed Oblivion with no SI expansion. It worked beautifully, mods running fine and everything going great. Then I wanted to play the SI (I love it) and so I install it. Now whenever I start up Oblivion and try to load my character the game just crashes! It doesn't even let me start a new game, I press yes to start one and it just acts like I pressed no! Can someone please help me this is really ruining my game...

Could it be that the SI gave me the 2.0.14 patch or something?

That's a possibility. Any mods that require the 1.2 patch will be ignored by the game unless it's patched. So, now that the game is patched, those mods will suddenly be active and could potentially be causing this. Try unchecking all of them temporarily and see if it clears up.

I had a similar problem. Ever since I installed the SI expansion, the game crashes after logos. But if I skip it, just a little before loading... The game crashes...
Installed patches after it didn't work without it. And now oblivion doesn't work whether SI is used or not...

Is there a way to uninstall the patch but not SI?
