Quest: Come Fly with Me

Post » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:29 am

Has anyone been able to resolve the issue between Harland and the Nightkin peacefully?

I tried stealing the key from the nightkin jailer (can't do it), stealthing into the warehouse and stealing the info from the computer (harland hostile,) stealth killing the jailer for the key (nightkin hostile).

I don't know why I want to resolve this peacefully since I hate the bright brotherhood but is just struck me as odd there was no peaceful resolution to this chapter of the quest.

Was there any real benefit to helping either one? I couldn't tell. Seemed like it was best just to kill all parties for xp and loot.

There's another key in a desk in one of the rooms past the jailer.

*brainfart* ... I think the desk is just in a wall niche...not in a door-enclosed room. Just to clarify. :)

Man, for some reason, reading this gave me a major case of the giggles!
Thanks, I needed that. :)

Stealthboy to the jail...grab the key off the desk.

I always settled this quest peacefully.

You can also talk Davison (sp?) into taking the rest and leaving even after killing the jailor for his key as long as you don't go exploring and killing too many other nightkin. Not sure what the limit is; first time through, Davison just attacked me for killing his buddies. Last night, I killed two or three of his buddies, but he had no complaint.

Harland made the error of carrying the first Hunting Rifle I encountered in a game. He caught a 5.56mm HP round from a Varmint Rifle with his nasal cavity.

I didn't even know this could be solved peacefully

The nightkin always attack me on sight, so I kill them.

It's allot easier than solving it with a gun and the conversation with Davison is worth it. When you enter REPCONN, via front door, there is a stealthboy right at your feet that'll get you to Davison.

Same. Nightkin have always attacked me on sight when I enter. Their loss.

The Nightkin do attack on sight. Except Davison, who can be negotiated with peacefully. You simply avoid the rest of the Nightkin (as many as you can, anyway, I only end up killing 2 or 3, counting jailer) and he'll take the rest with them. Which may be one or two remaining, he doesn't have many.

The fastest way to finish this portion of the quest (and easiest) is as follows.

1) take the stealth boy off the first dead Nightkin when you enter REPCONN

2) Talk to Davison and ask if he will leave with all his Nightkin if you get him the stealth boys shipment

3) go to Harland's room, talk to him, and offer to find his friend so he can leave the basemant.

4) Use the stealth boy in sneak mode to sneak up the stairs and to the computer console on the left. Access the terminal and read all entries and then exit and drop off the top floor to the bottom quickly. Even if Harland suspects you of sneaking around and [Hidden] has changed to [Caution] as soon as you drop off the second floor he'll stop caring and you'll go back to [Hidden].

5) Go back to Davison and tell him that the stealth boys are no longer at REPCONN and that they were sent somewhere else. He'll argue, but then Antler (Davison's crazy imaginary brahmin skull god) will believe you and Davison will agree to leave with his Nightkin. This immediately flushes the basemant of Nightkin.

6) Now, go to the jail, get the key from the desk for the cells, and go down and find Harland's friend.

7) After finding the dead female Bright Follower ghoul return to Harland and tell him the bad news.

There, you're done in maybe five minutes without firing a single shot.
