Slightly related, but I was miffed when I looked at the melee specific perks, and how they vary wildly between sneak, melee and unarmed. You need near max levels of unarmed AND melee to get what are basically required perks to be successful. It gets to the point where you just have to ignore everything else if you want the perks by the time you get to them
