I was having a bit of a problem with the landscape and then I realized it's because it's just not flat enough.
Anyone notice this?
There's too many rocks and bumps and hills. That's another thing. Many of the hills aren't smooth enough either. Would like a nice big hill instead of a cluster feck of dunes.
Now, I want the bumpy/rocky parts but I'd like to see some wide open desert too. The only open desert spot is the area infested with ants. It doesn't look right on almost every part of the map.
I'm going to assume that you are not very familiar with the geography of the http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&q=35.931007,-115.044036&ie=UTF8&ll=35.904625,-115.124359&spn=0.413239,0.891953&z=11 - as you can see, it's not a flat desert.
Note that you have several reference points: Black mountain (the pin on the map), goodsprings, sloan, boulder city... primm far to the south.. keep going south and you'll see nipton...
It looks like they stretched the area out horizontally (or compressed it vertically) but it's surprisingly accurate.
