The King of Nenalata

Well reading the creak and bonehead post prompted me to recall this similar but not skeleton kind of wierd appearance.
It happened once when I was arrested in Anvil. Once released you appear outside Anvil castle, in the small courtyard. I was amazed to find a Lich with some accompanying undead body guards, floating around and fighting with the anvil guard. Approaching the Lich, its label read 'King of Nenalata'.

Having now checked out Nenalata, its even more perplexing, since there is no special King of the old ruin. I play vanilla goty on ps3 - no mods. I've not seen this apparition since - must have been a one off glitch (or Lich, ha ha). Oblivion often does wierd things though, i guess its to do with the sheer size and complexity of the programme code - some command or action accidently triggers a normally unrelated code string.

Another example of this is when i visited the Tiber Septim Hotel, only to find one of those blue robed Heretics from the shivering Isles in there - and he recognised my char, launching an immediate attack on her.
Or like the time I exited the SI portal only to find Mirili Ulven from Highcross walking about on the cyrodiil side of the door and apparantly unable or unwilling to re-enter the SI.

The weirdness and unpredictability of such events are one of the recurring delights of this game IMO.

The Tiber Septim Hotel is in the exact center of the map. So when things get "lost" by the game, they tend to appear there.

That is an odd one. Umbacano can turn into the King of Nenalata during the Secrets of the Ayleids quest. Were doing this quest when you were arrested?

I've seen some interesting stories about stuff appearing in the Tiber Septim Hotel, although they were usually related to mods being removed.

Thats a bit creepy - missing people turning up in the Tiber Septim Hotel. Its screaming for an Oblivion /x/ style creepypasta. (and then, of course, a quest mod based upon it) - whos in?

Considering the fact that, as previously mentioned, this is programmed into the game as a sort of safeguard, I don't think that would go over well.

@OP This is a new one. Were you working on the associated quest? http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Secrets_of_the_Ayleids

the king of nenalata is a glitch. there is a mission where you have to go into a ruin for some reason and the lich appears and you are meant to kill him, if you don't see him or sneak past him you can't fast travel or wait because it says there are anamies nearby. when you get arrestedhe will appear then and attack everyone until he dies.

The Tiber septim propieter finds a nether world portal in his basemant. It sends you to random places in oblivion and eventually to the plane of oblivion that it is powered by. something like that?

Also does anyone know anything of narastedel's(spelling?) house in Skingrad. You know the one with the undead inside? Theres nothing really to explain it cept some alchemical equipment and a little jewelry box. Is there a mod quest for this or what?

Also remember finding a zombie corpse with a letter on it in a pond. It reads a love letter and holding flowers and reads: just walk by if you don't accept my love. Are these just random things to flesh out the world or unfinished quests made by the dev team?

Nerastarel's House is most likely an easter egg, but probably had a related quest which was scrapped in the end.

Nathan McDyer (The Zombie) However is purely a little easter egg.
