New Vegas Sound is Amazing!

Post » Fri Apr 23, 2010 7:32 pm

I love the overhaul on weapons an such, large rifles have a nice boom and the pistols have the satisfying snap.
Freeside is awesome, love the background noises that really make me feel like im walking through a really rough neighborhood.
And the Ghouls! The ghoul screams resonating through buildings and caves gives me chills, not like FO3 where it seemed the same regardless of location.
Not a huge fan of the radio selection however, i have about 2 songs (ranger with the big iron on his hip!) i like and the rest are annoying not to mention the host is boring :/ sorry but he just is.

P.S. the shotguns are very much improved!

I agree this was a nice improvement. I like walking through the wasteland hearing dogs bark or shots being fired in a distance (although nothing is there). I like when you walk over a grave you can hear voices. It really adds a lot to the game.

Gun sounds seem much improved as well. The sound feels appropriate to their power.

A lot of nice ambient sounds, like you said as well. I do wish the tumbleweed still rolled around in my game. The first day it was an extremely nice effect, but it seems they've all stopped or gotten stuck on something.

I love the 9mm reload, the slide locking back and a very satisfying snap as you release the slide. Love it.

My favorite pistol, thus far.

Sort of disappointed there weren't any .45 pistols in the game.

I agree as well! I love the ambient sounds in the cities and outside like the owl and dogs barking. Adds alot of needed flavor to the locations. I also like the weapon sounds, they sound like weapons now, lol.

no p90, or any automatic shotgun. i cant complain becuase tey added so so so so so much especially in the way of items, but heres to hoping they add even more next time, instead of taking away item variance (ala morrowind and oblivion)

The effects, sound, design, and animation are the reasons I will always use the 9mm as my pistol sidearm rather than upgrade to a better one.

The quiet whispers where people have died is a great touch!

I've been using Beats studio headphones and a couple times I involuntarily jerked back when firing the hunting rifle or a shotgun ;-)

If you turn off the radio, the score is a haunting modern classical cue. Pretty amazing sound all around

Yea i noticed this in my last play session. The score is intensely dramatic with subtle tones all over the environment. Its like something out of a old Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack.

I dont use Beats studio headphones since i prefer less bass with the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 headphones but FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS is definitely a game that will take you to another world when using headphones not to mention keeping the neighbors a little more comfortable.

The ghouls definitely sound more ghastly and monstrous not to mention inhuman psychotic.
