Don't get my wrong, I love Bethesda, I loved Oblivion, and absolutely loved Fallout 3 when it was released. I pre-orded FONV hoping for it to be just as good if not better than FO3 but i haven't even gotten much of a chance to see this. After only playing for 5 hours or so, I got the infamous "No DLC Present" glitch and I can't load any of my saves (2). I turned on my xbox this morning and I got an update for the game and I hoped that this would fix the problem, but nothing. I know this games only been out for less than a week and they are undoubtably working on a fix as fast as they can, but it still pisses me off that the one weekend where i'm not working/school assignments, or anything like that, I can't even play the new game I just bought. (And there's no way i'm starting again I don't care if i'm only 5-6 hours in.) This post is basically just a vent, sorry if i'm sounding whiny, i'm really not trying to.

Have you tried clearing your cache or performing any other mentioned work-arounds?

clear your cache on a regular basis and install the game to your 360's HD. Oblivion and FO3 were almost unplayable until I installed them so I didnt even take the chance with New Vegas. I have 20+ hours and I have only had one freeze and some occasional studdering in Freeside.

I have it installed to my 360, same as you I also did with Oblivion and FO3 just because of the amount of load times you would get without and glitches, etc. I have cleared the cache with no result, so I guess i'll have to wait for that next update.

Just remember that Fallout 3 had a lot of problems during launch, as well (though, hilariously enough, no reviewers seemed to mention it. I guess Bethesda's hands were deep in the pockets of the publications at that time.)

So, give it some time, and I'm sure you'll have a good experience. This game is superior to Fallout 3 in every way and more in line with Fallout 1 and 2.

By all means yes. I don't plan on returning it considering that i've been waiting for this game for wayy to long lol. And I got Fallout 3 a few weeks after launch because my xbox had the RRoD so I didn't know about the issues it had, good to know that they got fixed pretty quickly though.

Honestly, Obsidian is pushing out patches for New Vegas way faster than Bethesda ever did with Fallout 3. You can tell that they actually care and that they're trying to cater to the players. I'd say give it one, maybe two more weeks at -most- and you'll have a fully playable experience.

Hopefully. From what i've played so far this game has huge potential and I was heading toward the Strip when this whole mishap happened, of course it has to happen when the most exciting part was coming up
