Ezio's bomb crafting

Post » Mon May 03, 2010 5:04 am

This is Elder Scrolls, not Assassin's Creed. Please refrain from confusing the two.
Plus, no one would ever take the time to create bombs in the Elder Scrolls universe. For [censored]'s sakes, you can ejaculate explosions from your fingertips.
Oh, right. That's why there are no stairs in TES, everyone levitates. There is no armor in TES either, everyone summons daedric armor.

What's with all these dorks coming and posting about bombs and guns all the time, sheesh, its like they've never heard of Elder Scrolls until now... NO BOMBS OR GUNS. This isn't Fable.
Because man, we didn't have explosive charges for blowing open paths in caves during Morrowind. Nope, no, those sure weren't in the Elder Scrolls.

I want Chuck Green's ability to combine weapons and make new ones.

Not really, but that's about how silly this thread is.

acording to the new GI mag i got that covered the new Assassins Creed: Revelations, Ezio will be able to craft around 300 different bomb variants. Each with its own effect and strength. i dont see skyrim going that in depth with it but i would like to see some bomb crafting. maybe a couple of basic types with a few lvls of strength each.

explosive, flash, smoke, and poison each could have 5 lvls of strength that would be 20 bombs. i think that could be doable and would be possible through the alchemy crafting menu.

Thoughts?

My Morrowind and Oblivion characters could throw bombs at will, without crafting them. They variously exploded in fire, ice, even lightning in near-infiintely variable strengths.

From what I hear, we'll be able to do the same in Skyrim- even leaving them in places with triggers to set them off when an enemy steps on them.

None of them are actually bombs, of course- but what's in a name? :D

You can shoot a fireball from your hand that explodes.

Exactly. So who needs bombs?

My fireball post was not meant to be an argument against the OP, but an argument for it. I'd certainly support alchemical explosives, and I feel a lot of it is already supported by magic.

I figured as much.

I just didn't know whther it was the radius, damage, or something else entirely that is effected.

Lot of different variables and type to choose. And also not sure what would be the constant besides them all exploding.

I'm guessing 3 types set - mines, possibly detonation, and timed explosives.

Then pick fragments, nonlethal(flash/irritants), smoke, fire, concussion, etc

Then damage/radius or something to do with the size.

Something like that?

not sure it only stated that you can use it at will or set up a trap/ambush with them

lol ive been playing since morrowind. and hate what fable became so you cant use that argument on me

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're trying to (sarcastically) say.

I said bombs wouldn't be in TES, because magic takes it's place.

And i dont mean gun powder!!!!

i mean with the mixture of materials in alchemy to create certain effects!!!

For some reason my psychic abilities are telling me that this idea won't make it into the final cut of the game...

Just telling you what the Gods are telling me...

And he said in that case armor or stairs shouldn't be in TES either, because magic could take their place as well.

OT: I can't wait for AC:Revelations!

On topic, I don't know. If you're talking more magic customization, that would be cool.

Is this any more ridiculous of a request than wanting spears to be in? Is it in the lore that the series can't add new features with each installment? Oh, and no one here has the right to say that "that's not TES" unless you're a developer.

If you're going to say no because there is magic then they may as well remove everything from the game and force you to play as a mage. Why use swords and maces when you can shoot fire and lightning.

Except I think he overlooked that it DID take the place for stairs in morrowind. At least for certain groups of folks in morrowind. Anyhow guns/bombs simply wouldnt fit into tes. Try fallout instead :P
