A walk to the Tribal Village

Post » Tue May 18, 2010 8:36 pm

I kept trying to sneak to there with my melee character and my unarmed character.. only to be jumped by those cazadors early game. I even tried sneaking by using a stealth boy but somehow they can still detect me when I crouch and sneak. Anybody know a safe route from goodsprings to that tribal village for the good loot in it?

There is no safe route, the village its self is overrun by Cazadors.

Can't get in the village, but you can sneak to Chance's grave without difficulty. Just head up in the hills to the West as soon as you can and stick as far West as you can get until you reach the valley with the grave.

Are you trying this at lvl 1 or 2 or something? Take Boone as a distraction?

I got their at about level 4 by fighting all the way there. I used up all my ammo and had to go back to Goodspringes everytime to heal up. Its not impossible though to defeat them and get all the way there...just be prepared to save after every victory and making long walks to and fro Goodsprings. Lot of good loot there like you said, well worth the effort in my opinion. Also, I'm glad to hear its not a glitch that all the camp is dead...I was wondering about that.

If you mean the little camp with all the dead Fiends laying around that's called "tribal village", you can climb up the hills in Good Springs (just north of the gas station next door to the docs house) and run across the hills. When you come to the spot overlooking the village chuck dynamite down at the casadores.

Yeah the wiki says you can avoid the ones on the road & drop onto the grave, but that'd still leave the ones in the camp itself. Dynamite sounds like the trick. :)

Hehe, I'd find that option almost impossible (w/no companion) since I don't use VATS and my real-time trigger finger isn't accurate enough. I'd run out of ammo/cash (starting from lvl 1 directly from Goodsprings) long before I reached it.

Anything that deals fire damage will drop a cazadore in like, 1 hit. Failing that, shoot their wings off. They're not as much of a threat on the ground.

Ho Ho! Interesting! I've never liked flamers because of the weight, but will incendiary rounds do that, too?

For the OP, you can stay up in the rocks and chip away at them with small guns/laser pistol... it's hard to melee those buggers at low levels. That is good early-game loot, though.

Can't personally say they'll work because I wouldn't waste incendiary rounds on cazadors.. but flamer weapons work a treat on those like blighters. As the above poster also stated, shooting their wings is highly effective too.

When I did my melee run, I found that VATS + machete = pile of dead bugs.

I've used the flamer on them, and it's definitely effective for wearing them down, but you will still have to deal with their wrath when they find you.

My first playthrough I was able to sneak to the tribal village and Red Rock Canyon at level 1. The Cazadores along the road were distracted by something, they were around - just not close by, and there weren't any Cazadore's at the Tribal Village. Go figure. Couldn't do it in my second playthrough though. The bastards were everywhere. So it's possible to do if the stars are aligned just right.
