Should you be able to redistribute the power at the end of t

Hey guys and girls in the forums I haven’t written one of these things in a while but I was wondering if anyone else shared my opinion on this matter, and if Obsidian would please change it. Of course I am talking about the lack of the ability to change where the power distribution goes after the end of that lucky old sun quest. The main reason why is so that others and I can get the Ecluid C-finder. I know that the gun is really not that good at all, but I and I am sure others want it purely because collecting all the special guns in the game is one of many reasons that RPGs with guns are fun and entertaining.

And I also know that they only reason they do this is the same reason why they end the game after the last main quest, because they want people to go back and do it all over again so that they can keep themselves entertained while simultaneously keeping the game on their minds until they come out with new DLCs so people spend even more of their money on the game. In my case I don’t know about others, but I think that the repetitiveness of the game would spoil my apatite for the game by playing it over and over with realistically minimal change in the game play despite the overwhelmingly different change in the narrative.

But to get back on topic I think that they should allow you to change the power distribution after the end of the quest. Dose any one share my opinion please share and vote, thanks.

I do believe that you should be able to switch it back and forth, but I think the reason they only allow you to pick it once is to make you have benefits and consequences. If you could change it over and over, you could simply change it to benefit you, or set it to a certain place during the quest to get the benefits, then switch it to the weapon afterwards with virtually no consequences. So while it doesn't make sense, I understand why.

It makes little sense to me that the NCR would let you switch the power distribution around at your whim since that sort of activity would be extremely noticable. I don't think you should be able to switch it at all. You should have to live with whatever decision you made (or reload an earlier save).

If for whatever reason Obsidian decides to make it possible for you to switch the distribution to another recipient, you should have major consequences as a result of that. For instance, if you change where the power is going, the NCR comes down on you hard, throwing dozens of well-armed soldiers at you. It should be a risky decision in itself to change the distribution (if God forbid they change the way it works), not some "Oh I think I'll give the power to X today!"

I don't know. Maybe if there was such an option, factions other than the NCR could bribe you into adjusting the power distribution.

Err ...
In case you did not notice Helios One is not really much of a priority and they were only there because the Brotherhood of Steel was there, not because they really needed a power station as Hoover Dam generates more that enough power to the area, the Strip actually only gets 5% of the power generated by Hoover Dam.

Its a priority to the Followers for two reasons, it would prevent gaining access to pre-War weapon and would help Freeside (as House only cares about The Strip), the NCR really does not care that much as they have Hoover Dam and only annoys them a bit if you divert the power.

Why? they did not cared when you decided to divert power in the first place that much, only annoyed that "some tribal" screwed up Helios One power grid, its like you blown up Hoover Dam.

Besides what purpose would it made if there are "major consequences" of something that DID NOT had major consequences before, its not like the one responsible to fix the place is called "the idiot with sunglasses" and goes by the name of "Mr. Fantastic" that is a clear indication of how strategic important it was for the NCR, its such a important place THE COMMANDING OFFICER WANTS TO LEAVE!

I understand wanting to divert power later on since its really a arbitrary decision that prevents the player of doing so and not a logical one but it that is a decision you make at the end of the quest and allowing the player to change it at will would simply be not giving a consequences to the choice the player have to make and one the player is informed if the player look around the place and talk to the NPCs.

They don't know how much power the place should be producing, and they aren't getting much out of it anyway before you get there.

Also, they are under the impression that Fantastic did most of the work and you were just helping out.

Another thing, if they gave you the ability to switch around the power later there would be no logical reason the NCR couldn't just go up there and switch it back themselves, they didn't go up there because of the robots, but now that you've cleared them out they would have free access.
