I purchased the game from Steam, and it installed in German! I am American, I don't speak or read German. This is ruining the game for me. I can't find any option in the game menu to change the language, and if I right click the game in my Steam library and go to Properties, there is no language option. Please help!!!

You must have got a German IP (or Steam thinking it is a German IP) while purchasing the game.
Your only option is to contact the support and ask for a refund, or if you get lucky you can convince the support, that you are in America.

BTW, the German version is cut and the translation is even worse. If you haven't been to Germany, you do not know how much Steam svcks.

In steam, goto Library, under Games. Right click on Fallout New Vegas, goto properties. Goto the Language tab. Change it there to English.

I believe that should work.

Thanks for the input, but as I said in the original post, there is not a language selection under the Fallout:New Vegas properties tab.

Pawel's advice is your best, contact Valve and hope they're willing to help.

Yeah the German version is censored both in how much violence is shown and how many languages are available. It's German and only German.

All you can do is contact their support and demand a refund.
