Vilified - what does that actually mean?

Post » Wed May 26, 2010 6:44 am

I know what it means in Real Life but not too sure what it means as far as status in this game.

Vilify = debase, belittle, abuse, disgrace - etc....

Thanks

If your vilified with a group then thats means youve done somthing to piss them off, and they will attack you on sight.

It means to the faction in question you are villified, i.e they consider you a villain.

In terms of what that actually does in-game, they'll attack you on sight.

Perfect - thanks!

I "assumed" that is what it meant but thought I better ask first.

It means they start talking to you negatively but no matter how many more of their people you kill they still won't attack you on sight unless you're wearing an opposing factions armor. <_<

For example I am vilified by the powder gangers and the one in Nipton referred to me as "the grim [censored] reaper of powder gangers."

Can one "un-vilify" a faction later? Or is it a one-way street?

In the case of scum like the the powder gangers, why would you want to?
I've recently been vilified by those guys, too after I saved Ringo. Good thing I checked out the prison before that happened. Salvaged some armor from the dummies who insisted on attacking me - single shotgun does a pretty good job with close-range headshots, I've found out. :gun:

There is at least one faction that will forgive your sins, that's for sure.
