Enemies....

I don't have a problem with this game. I'm glad there are more towns than FO3, locations, quests etc, but damn did they over board with the amount of enemies. It seems like no matter what I have to fight 5 or 6 people at a time, I burn through stimpacks like no other. Not to mention that half of the enemies move so fast that you're quickly swarmed, the Cazadores, Radscorpions, Nightkins, Deathclaws...

One enemy I particularly loathe is the cazador. You always meet them in groups of 3 to 4, they fly quickly so you can't kite them at all, they do heavy damage with a poison and you find them everywhere it seems. It'd be nice if they toned them down a bit. Either reduce their numbers or make them do less damage/slow them down.

You may see this as a problem.

I see it as a welcome change.

The wasteland in Fallout 3 never handed your ass to you. The Mojave Wasteland, on the other hand, hands your ass to you quite frequently.

Feels a lot more like Fallout 1 and 2, which is a good thing.

I agree with Killian, but also... the stats you put into your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. does effect your hp/speed/dmg and what not

This X500.

Even with some highly powered perks in New Vegas, you're not quite a demigod as you would be by level 15 in Fallout 3. This is how it should be.

i hate when people answer others complaints with "there will be mods"

most of the players play on consoles. so its not really a solution

I'm on 360 so no mods.

My S.P.E.C.I.A.L is set up pretty well for combat, high agility, strength and endurance. It seems that using a super sledge works best against cazadores since they get in melee range so quickly.

If anyone has any advice on how to deal with them efficiently I'm all ears.

Reason why you're wasting so many stimpaks is probably because you haven't invested any skill points into the Medicine Skill. I vaguely remember in Fallout 3 where if I used a Stimpak at like level 20, I was healed 35% even though I haven't spent a single point into Medicine. In New Vegas I find I only get around 15%-20% from each Stimpak and I'm level 16.

They made it so that each skill plays more of a role than in Fallout 3.

Now, is this for the better or for the worst? I'd say it's for the better but you can decide :).

Cazadors are the most fearsome enemy, ever. I tried fighting some at a fairly low level, they charged at boone 2 shotted him then charged at me and 2 shotted me.

I would have to agree that this is a much welcomed change of pace. It actually made me work with my companion in "attempting" to make swiss cheese out of those damn Cazador things. The game really requires a "survey" approach, where as opposed to Fallout 3, you do need to think before you unload a clip into an enemy, because hey, his seven siblings just MIGHT get pissed. I'm playing on Hard with hardcoe mode turned on, and yes, it can get a little gruling (Just turned lvl 12 and Nightkin still butt [censored] me with their damn bumper swords), but I find it refreshing to know that I'm STILL a little fish in a big pond, where as in Fallout 3 I was a force to be reckoned with by lvl 10.

PS. I'm fearing what it will be like on my second play through when I go Very Hard Difficulty.

In terms of cazadors, and numbers, it'd be more effective to take them all at once rather than one at a time. Try using a splash damage weapon on them like the flamer. I haven't ran into any death claws yet, and I hope I don't run into any for a while.

I actually don't use a lot of stimpacks, and rely mostly on resting to heal (my medicine level is low). I burn more ammo than anything. I find it hard to maintain a proper amount of ammo with the guns I love using.
